Last month Lamb & Bear were invited to try out a brand new Cosatto pram at The Baby Show in Birmingham. I jumped at the chance. Cosatto products are amazing. So fun and colourful, and super stylish. In particular the new Ooba travel system, which I desperately wanted to get my hands on after seeing one at the Excel show. Unfortunately Vicky was back at work that week so wasn’t able to bring Baby Bear, so I dragged Daddy Lamb along to keep me company during the 3 hour drive to Birmingham.
The journey was ok. I drove most of the way so Joe could sleep. He worked the night before so would normally be in bed all day, but kindly agreed to come along and sleep in the car. 🙂 However, it didn’t quite turn out that way. Joe seems to think I drive like a looney, and kept waking up panicking I would crash into the car in front! I kept reminding him that I passed my driving test first time at 17 (10 years ago, wow I’m old) and have yet to receive any points or fines, unlike someone else!
We had to stop after about 2 hours for Lamb to stretch his legs, he hates being in his car seat for long periods of time. After refueling with a coffee and bacon roll, we were back on the road and made it to The Baby Show around 11am.
At the Cosatto stand I met up with Emma and Lottie, who are really lovely. As usual, the Cosatto stand wins Lamb & Bears ‘best in show’ award. They put in so much effort designing their stand. To be fair, showcasing such beautiful products does a lot of the work for you. I particularly liked the lampshades they had made from their prints. Cosatto, you really should start selling these on your website! There’s big bucks to be made 😉 Oh and the multicoloured macaroons – yum!
To my joy Emma presented me with the gorgeous Obba travel system to try. She carefully chose the colour to complement my outfit (we definitely could be BFF’s) and went for the duck egg blue, with hints of yellow in the interior print (to match my jacket of course). LOVE. IT.
My first impressions of the Ooba were really good. It’s so strong and sturdy. Pushing it was a breeze. I genuinely think it would handle off road pretty well (although why on earth would you go off road with such a beautiful piece of equipment, way too pretty to ruin!)
One of the features I really love was the flip handle. So useful to be able to switch between parent facing and world facing at the touch of a button! It also means (if you do dare go off road and dirty those precious white wheels 😉 ) you can push with the larger wheels facing forward, making it much easier to push on uneven ground. I have to admit, I tried pushing with the larger wheels forward around the show, and it did take a while to get used to. Not easy on flat ground, as they don’t swivel. But that’s not what they are made for.
I also loved the hand brake. A small switch on the handle puts the brake on, meaning you’re not fighting against everything in your shopping basket to find the foot brake. Much quicker and easier to switch on and off.
As you can see from my photos, the Ooba is visually stunning. As a fashion designer, I spend my days designing products that are not only visually appealing, but that offer functionality to our customer. Cosatto do this perfectly. The Ooba has covered everything. Style & substance. They are the ‘fashion designers’ of the pram world.
Most importantly, we need the opinion of the person actually using the pram, and that’s Little Lamb. Well, as you can see he looked pretty comfortable in the Ooba!
Jaxson suited the Ooba so much. The duck egg blue complemented his blonde hair and blue eyes. Makes my black buggy look so boring! We had so much fun pushing the pram around the show. All eyes were on Lamb and the Ooba, we got so many comments on how cute he is (I know I’m biased, but he really is so cute!) He’s such a flirt, gave the Cosatto team & No.1 blogger Tigerlilly Quinn plenty of smiles and giggles. I burst with pride when I take him out. Having such a friendly, happy boy, who loves other people is so rewarding!
There are so many more features of the Ooba I love. Wipe-able leather look fabric, removable belly bar, 5 point harness, large hood and shopping basket, zip-able cover. If you want to read more about the Cosatto Ooba or any more of their products, you can visit their website by clicking here.
Overall I think the Cosatto Ooba really suits our little family, don’t you?
Alex xx
I wonder if there’s a Cosatto fairy that will bring me my very own Ooba…
