Another month, another craft post featuring our crafty goodies from Bostik! This month we were given the theme ‘back to school’, which I’ll admit I struggled with. Thanks to the powers of Pinterest I found this craft pin from a blog called Living Montessori Now. So todays craft activity consisted of creating a school bus and a tractor from lollipop sticks!

We began by finding as many lollipop sticks as possible and painted them yellow and green.

Lamb started off doing really well at this, but he eventually lost interest (as he does with most arts and crafts) and decided to paint to sponge pictures while I finished painting the sticks.

Once the lollipop sticks were dry I began putting them together to create our vehicles. Unfortunately I was left to do this by myself, but at least I got to surprise lamb with the final result!

Making these lollipop stick vehicles is super easy. All you need is:

• Lots of lollipop sticks.
• Green and yellow paint.
• Card for the base.
• Black card/foam for the wheels.
• Reflective card for the windows and alloys.
• Glue. I used the Blu Tac Glu Pen.

Overall this project took a couple of hours max (not including drying time). It’s such a quick and easy activity to do with the kids and they will be sure to love it if they love vehicles!

There are so many more you can try. What about a red fire engine? Or a blue police car? Or even a black train!

Firstly, I’m sorry this is so late, I should of posted this a week ago, but I’m just so behind with blogging. Secondly, I apologise for my lack of craft projects recently. Each month we are sent a box of crafty goodies from Bostik which I have tried my hardest to use with Lamb. The things is, we have gone through a bit of a dry spell when it comes to being creative. He’s lost interest.

Well, that’s not entirely true. He always asks to paint and colour, but his concentration lasts all of 5 minutes before he’s running off looking for toy trains.

This month I managed to sit with him for an hour and create some holiday crafts. Not a lot but I’m happy we actually finished a project!

Glittery Lollipops. 

Using glittery card, random things to decorate and coloured lollipop sticks we made ourselves some glittery lollipops. This is the perfect little project for toddlers. Give them a glue stick and let them stick, stick, stick!. Then simply cut out the lollipop shapes and attach to the lollipop sticks. Alternatively you can cut the lollipop shape out first, then decorate.

Lamb has a love for anything lollipop at the moment so absolutely loved this craft project. Obviously I have themed this on holidays, but you can create lollipops for all themes. How about easter lollipops, christmas lollipops, or even halloween?

Mini Name Bunting

In our little box of goodies we got some really cute little flags for bunting. Using colourful foam letters, I made some mini bunting to hang up on Lambs bedroom wall. To keep with the holiday theme I attached a wooden bucket and spade shape to the end! This would be really easy to make from scratch. All you need is fabric, a hole punch and some string!

This could be a really lovely gift for someone. Maybe baby girl/boy bunting for a new baby? Or congratulations bunting for someone who has achieved something or got married? What about making bunting for a new home with really pretty floral and striped fabrics?

With all the rain we’ve been having I’m sure a lot of you have been stuck indoors! What crafts have you been doing this summer?

This months Bostik craft theme is ‘scrapbook’. I’ve been really busy using every spare minute I have, including staying up until 11pm most nights, on another project so I gave Daddy Lamb the opportunity to get crafty this month.

His instructions were:

1. Use the contents of this box.
2. Use the Bostik products provided.
3. Make something around the ‘scrapbook’ theme.
4. Take plenty of photos.

Here is what happened…

As you can see they made a lot of mess! But they had so much fun and made a lovely collage canvas with old photos of Lamb! This would make a really lovely gift for a family member, and a great way to use up random crafty materials.

The canvases could be themed for Christmas, birthdays, anniversaries, or even Father’s Day which is next month! If you wanted to secure the photos down, rather than use a glues stick, or glu dots like we did, you could cover the canvas in PVA glue which will dry clear, but leave a shiny coating to the canvas (practice first in case it makes the ink on the photos run!)

Lamb also surprised me with a lovely card with MUM on the front. As you can see Daddy lamb wrote with his left hand to make it look like Lamb wrote the card! Go on, admit it, you know you do that too! 😉

Although the crafts they made weren’t necessarily ‘scrapbooks’, I think they covered the same concept. Collageing and creating lovely things.

Scrap-booking is never something I’ve got into. To be honest I don’t have the time, but I am always envious when I see someones scrapbook. Such an amazing way to store your memories.
