Now I’ve got myself a little home office I’m desperate to make sure I keep it organised. Being self-employed I need to make sure I keep receipts and invoices, as well as records of income and sales for when I complete my tax return.
I’ll put my hands up and admit I’m incredibly unorganised. I have every good intention of going against my natural instinct and organising everything better, but I really do struggle.
With that in mind I’m trying to buy storage and office equipment to make sure I’ve got places to keep everything I need to file and organise.
As I have a work space in my cellar, some of my files can be kept down there. I literally need to separate and date everything otherwise I would most definitely lose it or mix it up.
The new desk I have is perfect for the tiny space it goes in. It’s compact, but as it’s a corner desk it gives me extra storage space with the 4 cube shelves.
I’ve been looking for some storage and organisation solutions and here’s what I’ve found.

For all of my receipts and invoices this HAN file system from Englebert Strauss would be ideal for separating into categories or months. Each drawer could be clearly labelled and every time I have a physical receipt to keep, it can go straight into the drawer. Honestly, I need this amount of organising. I’d probably keep this in the cellar as it’s not pretty enough for my office desk!

I recently purchased this paper rack from ASOS. It’s not too big so perfect for my little corner desk. I’ve always got bits of paperwork lying around from brands etc, and I’m useless at keep them all together. I now put all off my current paperwork that I need easy access to in this paperback. For only £9 I think it’s a bargain.
The cubes in my desk are a little smaller than standard storage boxes, so unfortunately I can’t but them from Ikea to pop on the shelves. Instead I picked up some cute rose gold wire baskets to keep stationary and fabric samples.
As you can see there’s a rose gold theme in my home office. I love this wire grid panel. Whether I keep letters, receipts or pretty picture, I need this n my office space. To go with the frame, these little wooden pegs are perfect for attaching paperwork.
So those are a couple of ideas to keep my new home office organised. I ‘d love to hear any tips you have to help me, or products you think I’d love.

Beautiful desk! I am jealous of your organizing skills. Your workplace looks like a place you would want to spend a lot of time in, that’s great for productivity. I am in the process of setting up my home office and I am looking for the right furniture and accessories, these are great ideas.
