I was recently asked to review an item from Messy Me, a family owned business, based in Farnham. Messy Me believe it is really important for babies to be allowed to get messy and the brand was inspired by a rather messy baby led baby!
“Where possible, I have tried to use local agencies and freelancers – people with amazing skills looking to juggle some work with spending time with their children or other important aspects of their life. I’m proud of the fact we are supporting British manufacturing – all our products are made in the UK.”
They offer a lovely collection of products from high chair covers to splash mats, and they are available in a variety of star designs plus one very pretty floral print.
We opted for the Messy Me Messy Mat (Olive Grey). I have a slight obsession with grey and white at the moment and I couldn’t resist ordering this colour option. With baby number 2 on the way I would benefit from any of the products on offer, but as I also have a 3 year old who likes to drop his paint brushes on the carpet I knew a splash mat would be ideal to use with both children.
The mat is a really good size. Big enough to sit the high chair or Lambs mini table and chairs on, without taking up the whole floor. It folds up really well and fits perfectly in our kitchen drawer.
We can also use the messy mat for outdoor use when the Lamb and his friends are playing in the garden. It’s the perfect size for them to have a little picnic on in the park.
The size it comes in is 90x120cm but they also offer the oil cloth by the meter so if you wanted something bigger you could request a specific size.
The Messy Me Messy Mat is made from hardwearing oil cloth, so is easily wipeable (both the surface and hems) and can even be washed in the washing machine at 30 degrees (occasionally).
If you’re looking for the perfect messy play floor mat, picnic blanket or something to catch bits of food on the floor then I highly recommend the Messy Me Messy Mat (RRP £24).
