Baby Jogger recently launched their first ever infant car seat, the City Go and baby jogger asked me to put it to the test. The latest post on my blog is a review of the Baby Jogger City Premier pram, which is compatible with the City Go.
The car seat is suitable from birth to around 13 kilos. The 5 point harness has 3 height settings that can be adjusted as your baby grows. You can also remove the seat cushions to allow for more room. The City Go features a removable UV 50+ large hood.
Using car seat adapters you can use the City Go to turn your Baby Jogger pram into a travel system. We decided to attach the car seat to our City Premier on our day out.
The day began with our journey to London. As it was our 2nd Wedding anniversary on the 21st we decided to take the boys to Winter Wonderland for a family day out. It’s the first time we’ve braved the city with both boys and I have to say, it went pretty smoothly.
We drove to Newbury Park tube station and parked there for the day. Lamb loves going on the “underground train” so we had to incorporate this into our day. As the City Go is such a light car seat, carrying the pram up and down the stairs wasn’t so tricky. Alternatively, I could carry Bear in the City Go and daddy could carry the pram. (The one handed fold makes this super easy).
If you’re a regular reader of my blog you’ll know that my little bear cub isn’t a fan of being in the car. He screams on most journeys so I’ve never used a travel system with him. Pushing him around in a car seat for some of the day (we baby wore him a lot) did worry me. Surprisingly he barely made a fuss each time we put him in the seat. In fact he slept quite a lot (totally not like him), so he must of been comfy!
The car seat has a really good size hood which allowed me to shade him from the sun (and the cold). A big plus point for me.
I also find the handle really comfortable to hold. I hate chunky handles but this one is slim.
Winter Wonderland really is a great family day out. My husband and I went for the first time about 10 years ago when we were first dating and it wasn’t so good. The event has improved massively since it first opened and I’m really glad we took the boys for the day.
There are loads for rides for the little ones, as well as some bigger ones for the grown up. Visitors also have a huge range of bars and restaurants, as well as shops and activities.
With the weather being so cold we made sure we were wrapped up with coats, scarves, hats and blankets. Having such a big shopping basket allowed us to take lots with us for our day out without carrying too much. I also used my Babymule changing bag which, in my opinion, is amazing. I use it as a rucksack and we have it in black so its suitable for my husband too.
When it was time to head home we decided to take an Uber taxi back to Newbury Park. Normally we would get the tube, but it was late, cold and we had a car seat for Bear! I’ve never used the Uber app before but it was super easy. Plus I had my sister-in-law with me so she showed me what to do. As it was our first ride we got a discount and a journey from Hyde Park to Newbury Park only cost us £17!! The whole journey would of been £32.
Putting the City Go into the taxi was really easy. You can install with the seatbelt or you can buy an isofix base. When you’re in a rush or you’re own, having a compact and easy to lift car seat is pretty useful. If you travel around a lot, or have to use public transport, then the City Go as a travel system may be perfect for you.
I honestly love the Baby Jogger range. We already own a Baby Jogger City Mini which I have recommend to so many people. I am now starting to recommend the City Go and City Premier after reviewing them. An absolutely amazing travel system which I can hardly fault at all.

This looks fantastic, it’s so important to get a car seat that they feel really comfortable in.
We have the city tour and its fab, but my only criticism would be be size of its wheels, which can make it harder to manoeuvre than other pushchairs. This model looks fab, it has the big wheels I love, but still looks super light and compact xx
I love a travel system, it makes life so easy for when you are getting about and using taxis etc. This looks fab, Mich x
The baby jogger looks fab – I’ve always been a fan of a travel system – and sad when they get too big for them. Looks like you had a fab day out! xx
Sounds like you had a great day out. It’s great to see that the City Go is easy to fit onto the chassis and provides a great travel solution. I’ve never used Uber either, what a great saving and fab that you had the City Go with you to be able to travel with little one safely.
