With our finances being limited, we find ourselves making notes of places we’d like to visit with the kids in the UK. Days out, weekends away, even staycations. We are wanting to exploring our country more and more, and with Bear being such a whirlwind it makes sense for us to pack up the car and check out what’s on our doorstep.
Over the past couple of years we’ve been on a few staycation holidays including Bluestone Wales and Butlins, both of which we absolutely loved and highly recommend. We have also been on family holidays to Devon, Swanage and of course we stay in Yorkshire regularly visiting my family.
Last year we got a new car to cater for our family. Something a little bit bigger, cheaper to run and that would withstand our long journeys around the country. It’s so nice driving around in a newer set of wheels. There’s lots of space for our luggage, comfy seats and a lovely panoramic sunroof to let the sun sine down on us! The car just passed it’s MOT so we’re good to go on our next adventure. (That reminds me, they advised us to replace our front wheels so I must look at somewhere like TyrePlus to find a good deal on new tyres).
With family living in Yorkshire it makes sense for us to spend some time up there and exploring the beautiful countryside. Something I really miss from my childhood. Last year I finally got to take my family to one of my favourite places in Yorkshire – Haworth. The home of The Bronte sisters. This is probably one of the most beautifully quaint villages I’ve ever been to. There’s a lovely selection of tradition pubs, shops and of course the parsonage where the Bronte family lived.
If you haven’t visited Haworth before you really should.
We would absolutely love to take the kids back to Cbeebies Land and stay for a night. We did this for my birthday 2 years ago and it was so much fun. Another fun place we want to visit is Flamingo Land. I used to go here when I was young, but it’s so much better now. This is definitely somewhere we can visit when we go to stay with my family.
Something I’ve had on my bucket list for a longtime is taking Lamb to Longleat. Just as he reached an age I knew he’d enjoy a day out there, baby Bear came along. So now we’ve been waiting for him to get to an age we can all go as a family. I think this summer, when Bear will be 2 will be a perfect time for us to go. Although, I’m concerned our new car may not survive!

Both of my boys absolutely LOVE the beach, so I’d really like to visit a new beach destination this year. So far we’ve been to Devon, Swanage, Brighton, Norfolk, Tenby and Bognor Regis (when we went to Butlins). We live about half an hour from the beach, so are lucky to be able to go as much as we want, but that makes us want to visit new beaches even more.

I did CBeebies yesterday. So fab but for my little Wish and Bear who are 2 1/2 twins I would say gullivers in Warrington is fantastic and so is Drayton Manor.
I would love to do Eftling in Amsterdam. Looks so cute.
Off to Chester tomorrow to do the zoo and wine by the river 🙂
