Buying for babies can be so difficult. Especially if they’re not your own! There are things you can buy a baby that will be useful from a young age and stay with them through toddler years.
If you’re looking for some Christmas baby gifts ideas, then look no further! I’m supplying you with ideas of what I think would make a great gift no matter what age (even if they can’t us it straight away, it will be worth getting).
1. Aquadoodle Super Colour Deluxe
We bought Lamb an aquadoodle for his 2nd Christmas, but I know babies who have had them much younger than that. What’s great about the Aquadoodle is it’s a wipeable matt and quite large for the little ones to crawl over. It is full of colourful images to entertain, and the pen only needs water to work! No ink involved! For under £20 the Aquadoodle is a fave in our house.
2. Playskool Poppin Park Elefun Busy Ball Popper
I had no idea how much kids could love a ball popping elephant – but they do! Joe bought this for Lamb a long time ago and it is still loved by him and his friends! Even my nearly 4 year old nephew loves it! It’s on offer for £19.99 at the moment on Amazon, which is pretty good value for a toy that will be loved for years.
3. Sophie the Giraffe Teether
Sophie is an absolute essential. Lamb had one, his friends had one, baby number 2 will have one. Sophie La Girafe products are beautiful and make perfect gifts for babys. We reviewed a couple of toys last year which you can see here. If you didn’t know, you can also buy toiletries from Sophie La Girafe, they are amazing. Pricey, but perfect for a Christmas gift for that special bundle of joy. You can read our review of them here.
4. Lamaze Tug & Play Knot
I’ve already featured a Lamaze toy in another guide, but I couldn’t resist including the Tug & Play Knot because it was one of Lamb’s absolute favourite toys when he was a baby. He constantly chewed on all of the different shapes and it kept him quiet for hours.
5. VTech Baby First Steps Baby Walker
The VTech baby walkers are really great. Ok, so a 6 month old doesn’t need a walker but the front panel is lots of fun for them until they can stand and learn to walk. A great gift for any baby.
These are my top 5 baby Christmas gifts under £20. Lamb has/had every single one and I recommend them all.

You can’t beat a good Lamaze toy can you! We’ve had so many over the years and they just last so well.
My twins had a Sophie La Giraffe and they loved it soooo much! Really helped their teething too.
I really love the elephant. He looks adorable!! Some lovely gifts once again!
Great gift choices! We had most of these! Sophie is as always a winner!
Such a great list here Alex and I agree with all of them! Sophie has/had all of the items above, apart from the play knot – but she did have one similar which she loved. I would definitely recommend the V-tech baby walker too, Sophie used hers from 6 months old and used it for ages.. it also encouraged her to take her first steps at 15 months! x
Great list – each one of mine has had the VTEch walker, it is brilliant. Kaz x
Great choices. Amelia loved her Sophie the giraffe. I actually recently got her an aqua doodle and she loves it but it would be fab for babies!
We have an aquadoodle, we bought one for Lia’s first birthday. Both girls love it and it’s perfect for when Libby is painting and Lia can’t get involved so she paints on that instead.x
These are all fantastic gift ideas, my children have had them all apart from the elephant game x
Great post. Little L had the vetch walker and elephant for his first christmas. Such great pieces and great value for money. We have only just put them away in the loft and he’s two and a half but that’s only to make way for more toys that keep piling up. Thanks for sharing.
Great gift guide. Blake has the Sophie La Giraffe and my nan has got him the first steps baby walker for his birthday. I like the idea of the aquadoodle.
Wet had the aqua doodle may but my son just kept sucking the pens! I like the look of the lamaze knot toy though.
I didn’t get on with the Aquadoodle but I don’t think my eldest is much of a coloured/drawer which is probably why. He loved balls though.
I am also the mean mean mum that never bought a Sophie, something I am going to rectify this Christmas for the youngest!!
Such a great gift guide! Rosalie has the aqua doodle mat. She is 15 months and does still play with it. I know she’ll get so much more use out of it when she is older too xxx
