Thank you Steph for tagging me. You’ve really got me thinking about what ‘being a blogger’ means to me.
I started blogging when Lamb was around 10 months old. I had no idea what blogging was or what it was about, but after 18 months of blogging I’m still going strong and intend to continue blogging as long as I can.
Being a blogger gives me freedom to write down my thoughts in my own little online bubble. It’s a place where nobody can control what I’m thinking, what I believe and how I write. My blog is mine. I write the words, I take the photos; my beliefs, my opinions.
Growing up I was an A student, but without practice this doesn’t last. Being a blogger keeps my brain active and my thoughts buzzing. Being a blogger is a bit like having homework, and the geek inside me likes that!
Blogging has introduced me to a hugely supportive group of people (albeit a few nutters too!) and I’ve genuinely made friends through blogging. I have more like minded people to talk to, vent to and laugh about dirty nappies with! I’m sure some of my friends get fed up with baby spam.
Being a blogger has given me so many wonderful opportunities. I honestly didn’t know that blogging included things like reviews and sponsored posts when I started, but hey, if the hard work and late night are rewarded with a free product or a few pennies then why not?!
As my blog grows so does my passion. Every single comment I receive makes me smile, whether it’s nice or nasty. That person has taken the time to read my post and my writing has had enough of an impact on them to make them comment. Nothing really beats that.
Being a blogger means I have an online diary of my sons life. I can look back on my thoughts and feelings and see how our lives have changed as Lamb grows. I know blogging takes up a lot of time, but I really believe the positives of blogging outweigh the negatives.
Being a blogger has pushed me to start my own business. Everyday I’m inspired, impressed and intrigued by what others do with their blogs and businesses. I know I can run a successful business, but sometimes you just need that push, and my blog has given me that push. I’ll be launching at the end of the year, so keep an eye out! 😉
Finally, blogging has given me something to be proud of that is all mine. If the blog fails, it’s my fault, but if it flourishes then thats down to me too. My family and friends are proud, my husband is proud, I’m proud, and hopefully (when he understands) Lamb will be proud. All of this is for him.
What does being a blogger mean to you Coral, Ashleigh and Laura?

Ah Alex, this is lovely and I can so relate. Blogging makes you feel so proud for achieving something that is just yours. You have done amazingly well!
Stepping in for Hannah this week in thanking you for linking up to #thelist x
Thank you Amy! Your blog is amazing, hopefully I’ll be as successful as you one day! xx
I love this post Alex, and I am so excited for you about your business you are starting up. I feel very much the same that blogging really does inspire me too. x
Thanks doll, can’t wait to launch. I’m so nervous about it though, what if no one likes it?! It’s a risk but worth trying xx
A great post and fab points. I love interacting with people. It is such a lovely community! 🙂 xx #thelist
I think being a blogger means so much to so many people because it is a creative expression and freedom, your little piece of the internet 🙂

Exactly, blogging isn’t easy. There’s more to just writing posts and taking photos, you’re actually running a website! Very skilled hobby to have 🙂 xx
It’s the best isn’t it!! I thoroughly can relate. I’ve been blogging since my twins were born and they are now 10. It’s a great way to discover yourself, your life and what’s important.
Thanks for the great share, I still love meeting new bloggers.
