Buying Christmas presents for babies can be really difficult. Do they really need anything? We won’t be buying a lot for BB, but it’s only fair he gets a couple of presents under the tree. I’ve had a look around, and based on what I knew Lamb liked as a baby and what BB has shown interest in, I’ve put together this list of Christmas gift ideas under £10.
These Bright Starts Activity Balls are great for curious little hands. We had these for Lamb and he loved them. Definitely a great gift for a baby for Christmas.
Each ball does something different, including a rattle, spinner and clicking sounds. The bright colours and different textures are great at capturing their attention and keeping them interested.
BB has certainly shown an interest in our mobile phones so I think it’s time he got his own! Lamb always loved his toy phone so we will get one like this Fisher-Price Smart Phone.
This one has 20+ songs and phrases and lights which react and move to audio. Once they get a little older this is great for teaching numbers and counting, and improves listening and communicating skills.
Stacking toys are always popular with babies. Even if they are too young to stalk, they have lots of fun holding the brightly coloured rings. This Vtech Baby Stack and Discover also plays sounds so lots of fun for the little ones.
Press the button on the monkey to learn colours, numbers, shapes and to hear encouraging phrases.
I am a huge fan of toys that last. Toys that are suitable for babies, but also that a toddler or even preschooler will happily play with. I definitely think once BB is sitting up he will enjoy playing with this LeapFrog My Talking LapPup, and even his big brother will enjoy it too.
The useful carry handle makes this great for on-the-go play and teaches counting, numbers and colours.
Vtech Baby Little Singing Cora is suitable from 3 months so a great Christmas gift for young babies. There are lots of features to entertain baby including sing-a-longs, melodies, sound effects and phrases.
Pressing the buttons develops fine motor skills, whilst the flashing lights, fun sounds and huggable textures keeps them entertained. Cora can be attached to a cot, car seat or pushchair using the useful strap for fun on the go. (A blue version called Cody is also available.)
We all know babies love rattles so these Fisher-Price Rattle Maracas would be a great Christmas gift for a baby.
The are just the right size for baby’s little hands The colourful beads help keep baby engaged and interested and rattle as the baby shakes the maraca.
If you have a teeny tiny baby to buy for then why not get them something like this Cuddledry Cuddleduck. Lamb loved his rubber duck from a very young age. He used to chew on the beak when he was teething, and BB has this one and also loves chewing on it in the bath.
