Since BB was born I’ve had quite a few comments on how good I look (face, not body) and that I don’t look tired. Totally mental. I think I look horrific!
Anyway, I think the main reason I manage to look slightly normal on a day to day basis is down to the make up I wear, so I thought I’d write a quick post sharing my daily make up products.
Products For A 5 Minute Face
If I’m in a hurry and only have 5 minutes to put my make up on then I use these products…
First up is Mac Studio Fix Foundation. I suffer with spots/blemishes and my skin is fair so I like to wear heavy coverage foundation and this one sits well on my skin. I have also tried Estee Lauder Double Wear
and Smashbox Studio Skin
and like them too. If you want a cheaper option I often use L’Oreal Paris True Match
which isn’t as heavy but still has good coverage.
Next I’ll quickly put a little concealer under my eyes and over any spots or blemishes. This MAC Pro Longwear Concealer
is amazing and I haven’t found anything else that’s better.
I always use a face powder to set my foundation. Otherwise my skin looks clammy and uneven. For a while I used MAC Studio Careblend Pressed Powder
which is fab for oily skin. I have combination skin so found this worked well for me. If I don’t have any of this then I use a cheaper Rimmel one.
To give myself a little colour I quickly brush a little bronzer under my cheekbones, across my forehead, and a little down the sides of my nose. Being fair I try not to use too much. The one I use is the MAC Bronzing Powder
The last thing I do is put on a little mascara. Over the years I have tried so many mascaras and always go back to the Rimmel Volume Flash
. I have really fair eyelashes and this is the only mascara that lengthens and thickens my lashes to how I like them. There mascaras just don’t seem as good.
Products For A 15 Minute Face
In addition to the products above, if I have a little more time to put my make up on, or if I’m going out and want to look a little more polished I also use the following products.
When I have more time to put my make up on I’ll add a little eyeliner. I’m a huge fan of Rimmel Exaggerate Liquid Eyeliner
. I hate brush applicators and this one is a pointy sponge and I find it so much easier to use.
For eyebrows I use Benefit Brow Zings
and have done for years. In fact my friend bought me this for my birthday literally 3 years ago and I’m still using the same one! I always get compliments on how nice my eyebrows look so I won’t be switching products any time soon.
I love a bit of contouring especially as I’ve got quite high cheekbones. I absolutely love the Mac Mineralise highlighter.
For blush I add a little Mac Mineralise pink blush. What’s great about this is its shimmery so great for nights out, but lovely got day time too.
I’ll only add eyeshadow if I have enough time. I can’t really justify buying a Naked palette (as much as I want one) so I decided to try the W7 In The Buff palette as it’s a fraction of the price. I actually really like it. The pigment is pretty good for a product under a fiver. Obviously if you’re really into make up and quality products then you’ll probably opt of the Naked palette but I recommend you try this too.
Finally if I really want to finish my look perfectly I’ll add some lips. I’m obsessed with this Mac Stone lipstick. It’s a taupe/brown colour and quite unusual but I get so many comments when I wear it. I love a strong lip colour.
Those are the products I use on a daily basis. I rarely go out without make up on. If I do I look about 12! The bare minimum would be foundation, concealer and mascara.
What are your go to make up products?

I have that same Buff pallet and I love it. The colours are so me. I use an eye brow pencil at the moment but I dont actually think its that great. Ive literally only just started doing my brows within the last 3 months so I am going to try the Benefit brow Zings. My eye brows always look so thick and dark with the pencil. X
Definitely try benefit for your eyebrows Hun. Using a brush is so much better. Xx
