What an amazing and slightly unexpected day the Royal wedding was. So many of the greatest celebrities in attendance and Bishop Michael Curry stealing the show in front of enormous TV audiences, including almost 30 million in the US! Markle sparkled and Harry was the fairytale Prince, Elton John on the piano and the main cast of Suits – imagine the wedding gifts! What a wonderful event it was and the perfect wedding weather too.
Meghan’s Dress
Much was said about Meghan’s dress in the lead up to the big day and some commented that the Givenchy dress was less grand and more simplistic than they would have expected. Katy Perry was one of the first stars to comment saying it required another fitting! Personally I think she looked stunning. She knew exactly what she was doing with her look. Elegant but not too perfect. A little bit of hair in her face, a giggle here and there. She showed the world she was relatable.
To commemorate the day, Meghan gave out custom-made jewellery accessories including a beautiful bracelet to her closest friends. Want to do the same at your wedding? Have a look at the collections from Tateossian London for some ideas.
The Beckhams
Anyway, it wasn’t just Meghan’s outfit that got people talking, with David Beckham setting the bar high as always. His morning suit partnered with ultra cool shades made more than a few other guests swoon, we would imagine. This man could wear anything and look good. Victoria Beckham on the other hand received quite a few comments regarding how glum she looked. Not renowned for smiling, Posh Spice wore a navy dress from her own range and a pair of red shoes. She responded to her critics by saying that she was just so relieved to not be heavily pregnant for this Royal Wedding, as she had been expecting at William and Kate’s ceremony.
Tom Hardy and Charlotte Riley
The Peaky Blinder stars were more difficult to recognise than usual with Hardy sporting a new shaven-headed look for his current filming. He wore a stylish blue Gucci suit whilst wife Charlotte looked stunning in a The Vampire’s Wife dress.
Gina Torres
The Suits star plays a character with sophistication and style in Jessica Pearson. The power woman’s Suits wardrobe is filled with extravagant, designer labels so all eyes were on Gina to see if she would be leading the fashion stakes at the wedding. She didn’t disappoint with a beautiful red lace dress that fitted her perfectly.
Serena Williams
People are more used to seeing Serena in a tennis dress but she certainly showed that she can more than hold her own when it comes to fashion. Donning a peach Versace dress and matching fascinator, the tennis star looked amazing. It is also rumoured that she was the star of the beer pong games later on in the evening.
The Clooneys
The couple looked divine with Amal choosing a yellow Stella McCartney dress and George opting for a grey suit. George was apparently taking on a new role – as a tequila waiter to keep the guests well hydrated throughout the evening celebrations. Amal gets the blessed dressed award in my opinion.
Oprah
Talk show legend and actress Oprah Winfrey had an outfit nightmare the day before the wedding when she realised her beige dress would look white in the photos. Fortunately, Stella McCartney’s people were able to save the day and created a lovely new dress overnight!
There were too many celebs in attendance to mention them all but it certainly looks like the celeb stylists were very busy in the lead up to this event. Congratulations Meghan and Harry and we cannot wait to see the pictures from the next Royal event!
