Buying for a newborn is easy right? Just buy them a set of sleepsuits and dribble bibs…
But with Christmas around the corner wouldn’t it be nice to buy then something a little different, but something equally as useful to the parents?
After having 2 babies at Christmas, albeit they weren’t newborns as they are Spring babies, I’ve come across some products that I love and recommend as newborn Christmas gifts, so thought I’d share them with your today.
First up is something I have used with Bear since last Christmas and love. The Cuddledry Cuddledeer towel. Those baths in the early days are such a lovely bonding time for parents and baby, so what better present to buy then a luxuriously soft towel with reindeer antlers?! See more from Cuddledry here.

Earlier this year I launched my new baby range online. Something I used on a daily basis when both boys were newborns was a muslin cloth. With Bear I upgraded to a muslin swaddle blanket. It was the perfect breastfeeding cover, lightweight blanket, muslin to mop up dribble. It had so many used that I just had to launch one myself. So if you’ve got a newborn to buy for, I highly recommend a swaddle blanket.

These Christmas alphabet flash cards from Apples & Pips are really cute. Such a lovely gift for a baby or toddler. Something they can use over and over as they grow and learn. Keep your baby interested with the bright colours and get your toddler or preschooler to guess the letters and illustrations.
Apples & Pips offer a lovely selection of products so well worth checking them out.

If it’s a teeny tiny baby you’re buying for, who really doesn’t need a gift, you could get them something a little special like this personalised Christmas print from Freddie and Co. This is such a lovely and simple design, but yet so magical. It could be placed on the wall of the baby’s nursery and brought back out every Christmas.
I used Sophie La Girafe Cosmetics with Lamb and they are super nice. As they are on the pricey side, I’d mostly like buy them for gifts or ask for them as a gift. This Baby Starter Kit includes Face Cream, Body Lotion, Baby Oil and Hair & Body Wash. A full set of newborn bath time essentials.
If you’ve got a more generous budget the you might want to buy something super useful to the parents. One of my most recommended products I used with Bear was the Purflo Breathable Nest. It truly transformed bedtime for us. As a tummy sleeper, putting him in the breathable nest gave me peace of mind he was safe to sleep on his front. Now, there has been some bad press on nests in the media recently but I have read a report from The Lullaby Trust stating the issue is with products that have straps, rather than nests like the one from Purflo. You can read my review here.
Something I really wanted to get Lamb for his first Christmas was the complete collection of Beatrix Potter ‘The World Of Peter Rabbit’ books. But at the time the price for it was crazy. Since then it’s reduced in price and my mum bought it for Bear for his first Christmas last year. We finally have the beautiful collection of books I’ve always wanted! It’s currently £32 on Amazon which I think is such a great price. And this collection would look lovely in any baby’s nursery.
Ewan the Dream Sheep was one of Bear’s favourite toys as a newborn. Well, he didn’t know it obviously, but we played the sounds every night for him and it definitely helped him fall asleep. This would be such a lovely present for a newborn. It’s not only a lovely cuddly toy, but a useful item for mum and dad too! You can read my review here.
How adorable is this Gingerbread man teether by Nibbling! This would be the perfect Christmas gift for a newborn. Such a lovely little stocking filler for only £9.99.
We had a couple of nibbling products when Bear was a baby. He loved his monochrome ring rattle, which I wore as a bracelet. You can also get dummy clips and teething necklaces from their range.
All of these products would make such a lovely Christmas gift for a newborn and hopefully I’ve given you some inspiration if you are buying for a little bubba!
