If you follow me Instagram you will have seen a few photos of BB using his Purflo Breathable Nest. It. Is. AMAZING.
Honestly, this product has transformed our sleep routine. At around 2 weeks old I realised BB was much happier sleeping on his front, but this worried me. I was happy for him to nap on his front during the day as I was awake and supervising him, but at nighttime when we were both sleeping, that didn’t sit right with me. I was worried he would squish his face into the mattress and restrict his breathing.
I had heard about the Purflo Breathable Nest from my lovely friend Hannah who blogs at Budding Smiles and considered buying one, so when Purflo asked me to review one obviously I said yes.
A little about the nest…
- * The bumper is naturally breathable, hypoallergenic and antibacterial.
- * The mesh base and bumper are fully breathable.
- * The cover is made form 100% jersey cotton and is machine washable at 40 degrees.
- * Suitable from birth.
As soon as we started using the PurFlo Breathable Nest BB started sleeping better. I pretty much found it impossible to get him to sleep in his crib, or at least it would take a while and he would definitely have to go down already asleep. Since using the nest I’ve been able to put BB to bed awake on his back or asleep on his front/side and he definitely seems more comfortable. The fact I can lay him down awake and watch him slowly fall asleep without crying is just incredible. Don’t get me wrong, it’s not like this every time, he is a newborn after all, but I can see such a difference thanks to the breathable nest.
BB sleeps in a Snuzpod which is attached to the side of my bed. The breathable nest just about fits in to the crib, however I haven’t tried it with the side up. I’m sure it would squeeze in there though.
I’ve taken the cover off and washed it a couple of times and it’s easy to get on and off. Lamb enjoyed playing with the cushion insert and kept calling it his snake!
What’s great about the nest is it can be folded in half and transported in its carry bag. If we stay at someones house I take the nest and sleep with BB next to me in a double bed. He won’t roll, and won’t roll on him. It can also be used for tummy time as you can rest baby arms on the bumper.
The PurFlo Breathable Nest retails at £49.95 and is available in Moss Green (above) or Mushroom.
There’s not much more I can say about the Purflo Breathable Nest. It’s an amazing product that has transformed our bedtimes. BB quite obviously feels safe and secure as well as super comfy in the position he loves best – on his front.

*I was sent this product free of charge in exchange for my heist opinion and review. All words are my own.
Gosh, this sounds amazing. What a fab review and the most gorgeous photographs of BB. He is a cutie. Little Mister H really struggles to settle during the day. He likes the security of being held and loves being swaddled. He tends to flap around in his normal carrycot and bednest and doesn’t feel secure and snuggled up. This sounds like the most perfect solution. And I love the fact that the material is breathable so it is perfectly safe for them to sleep on their tummies. Sounds like a fantastic newborn buy.
