Another home improvements post from me today. Because it’s Monday, it’s raining, so I’m dreaming of luxury!
We had our bathroom refitted a couple of years ago and we absolutely love it. But there’s always new products on the market, new trends, colour schemes, new crazes. So it’s only natural to think about how you might change things if you were to do it again.
There were a couple of things we wanted in our new bathroom that we didn’t get. Mainly because of price. I would still love them if we could do it all over again.
First is a waterfall shower. These are total luxury to me and if I could change our shower to one I’d do it in a heartbeat. A decent shower is like a spa day to parents!!
We love the size of our shower. We extended it so the base is a rectangle rather than a square. It’s not cramped and would suit a waterfall shower heard perfectly.
The next thing that I’d change is the toilet. Everything in our new bathroom is quite square. However the new toilet is round. Being a creative (and a perfectionist) I like things to match and having a round toilet in an angular bathroom isn’t perfect. Even though the toilet is great, if I was perfecting the bathroom, it would be square.
The next thing I’d change is our mirror. We literally have a piece of glass screwed to the wall, but if I could change it I’d probably have a storage mirror. As you can never have enough storage! Or if I was being super luxurious I’d have one that lights up.
The new bath we have is perfectly fine, however if we were going for luxury out of our budget there’s a few things we could change. I’d love to add lights into the bath. We could go for a Jacuzzi bath (wouldn’t that be lovely) or even a walk-in bath. Something a little deeper than normal would be my dream as I love having really hot, deep baths.
I’m really happy with the sink we chose. Mainly because of the large cupboard underneath. This is the Lillangen from Ikea.
The one thing I would change about the sink is the tap. I’d get one you could move from side to side so I could rinse the sing easier.
As our bathroom is quite small there’s not a lot more we could add. If it was bigger I’d definitely put in more storage for towels, however what we have is sufficient. Having said that, you can never have enough storage for bath toys! No matter how many we throw away, they seem to reproduce by the dozen 😉
