If you haven’t heard of the Very Hungry Caterpillar before then, where have you been hiding?! Ha.
A well loved, classic enjoyed by myself as a child and now by both of my children. This story follows the journey of a hungry caterpillar in his quest to eat everything in his path.
The colours and style of drawing makes this a very significant book, which has been expanded into some lovely merchandise that we have been asked to review.
Lamb absolutely loves activity books and has spent lots of time with the selection of Very Hungry Caterpillar books he was sent. He’s just started reception, but has been interested in learning his letters and numbers for quite a while now. And these types of activity books make the learning aspect fun for him, and not a chore.
As well as lots of activity books, we were sent a simplified ‘lift-the-flap’ version of the story called ‘Where Is The Very Hungry Caterpillar?‘ This is perfect for Bear who’s recently found a love for books, especially ones he can interact with. I particularly love this book as a way of teaching your little ones the types of food the caterpillar eats. You can let them join in with reading the story, by recognising the images.
The boys also received a gorgeous plate featuring pictures of the food found in the book. Each section features a picture from the book along with numbers and letters. It’s lots of fun for your little ones to eat their food and reveal what images is underneath.
Lamb is a huge fan of apple juice (it’s his favourite) so he was really excited to find some Very Hungry Caterpillar cartons of cloudy apple juice in our box of goodies!
Something we were also sent that is going to prove extremely useful next year is the Very Hungry Caterpillar Family Calendar! It has a section for each family member, meaning I can be super organised with everyones plans!
This is just a small selection of some of the lovely products you can get from the Very Hungry Caterpillar range. There’s something for all ages including the Developmental Caterpillar for babies, board books for toddlers, and activity books for pre-schoolers.
Are you fans of the Very Hungry Caterpillar?
