The moment when your child meets their sibling for the first time is a moment you will cherish forever. The emotions I felt when Lamb walked into the hospital ward and laid eyes on his little brother were so overwhelming I cried.
I could instantly see how much he loved “his baby”. He had the biggest smile on his face and brightest eyes. I don’t think anything will beat that moment.
Lamb has taken to being a big brother so beautifully. I often hear him saying things like “don’t cry baby, I’ll look after you” and I’ll watch him rocking BB in his chair.
He’s always asking to help. He loves it when I ask him to pass me the changing mat or a blanket to put over BB.
His reaction to breastfeeding has been incredible. He’s not phased by me sitting with BB all the time and we always make a joke of how greedy baby is. He does sometimes ask me to put BB down so I can cuddle him, but he has every right to.
We had daddy at home for a week, and he concentrated on Lamb while I concentrated on BB, but Daddy is back at work now and it’s up to me to keep both boys happy.
I’m so proud of my Little Lamb and how amazingly he’s adapted to having a new baby brother. Every morning when he wakes up I hear him asking to see the baby. He comes into my bedroom smiling and gives his brother a cuddle. He hasn’t shown any signs of jealousy, other than asking for a cuddle every now and then.
Life as a family of 4 is wonderful and so much easier than I thought it would be. We are almost 2 weeks in and things could of course change, but we are all so happy, and most importantly Lamb is happy.
