I’m not going to lie. Lamb loves TV. As a newborn he would happily swing away in his Mamas and Papas Starlight swing watching a full Disney movie. It was heaven. I actually got to finish a warm cuppa!
Now, I know there are some parents out there that don’t like their kids watching TV, fair enough, your decision, but as long as everything is in moderation, then I’m more than happy to let him watch TV. Shows these days are extremely educational and have so many hidden messages teaching children about everything in life, so I’m all for it. My mum always told me I learned to read at a really young age because of Sesame Street. What ever happened to Sesame Street… “1, 2, 3, 4, 5… 6, 7, 8, 9, 10… 11, 12”. To those who watched Sesame Street religiously, you’ll know what I’m singing.
As Lamb gets older, he’s starting to really love certain shows or movies. In fact, he’s starting to get a little repetitive. That’s where Netflix comes in. The kids section is fab. He can see the images of each show and decide for himself what we will watch. It’s a great way of getting him to watch new things because he will be intrigued by the new characters he might not have seen before.
So what is he currently watching?
1. Pajanimals. This may be a new one to most families in the UK as it’s American. We first discovered this show when my nephew was a baby (he is now 3 1/2) and he watched it every night before bed. Then UK Netflix introduced a British version that was, well, awful. However, to my surprise the American version is now available in the UK and I couldn’t be happier! It’s such a lovely show (I wouldn’t expect anything less from Jim Henson). It teaches about everything to do with going to be including things like washing their face and brushing their teeth. The songs are super catchy and Lamb has been hooked from day 1. I highly recommend this show at bedtime, as I really find it chills Lamb out.
2. Bonnie Bear. Another randomly found show, in fact randomly found by my hubby, but another that Lamb loves. Bonnie Bear integrates cartoon stories with art. There are lots of different clips of painting, drawing with sand, as well as fun stories of Bonnie Bear. It’s a bit of a weird one, but one your children will love.
3. Chicken Little. Or “Little Chicken” as Lamb calls it. I’m sure you’ve all seen it or at least heard of it, but Lamb watched it for the first time last week and asks to watch it again almost every day. He’s really turning into a ‘boy’ and loves things with dinosaurs, aliens or monsters are the mo, so of course he loves the aliens and spaceship in Chicken Little.
4. How to Train Your Dragon: Race to the Edge. Like I said earlier, he’s loving dinosaurs and monsters. So this obviously includes dragons too. I haven’t actually watched the movie with him yet, this is also available on Netflix, but we are loving the new series based around the movie. The perfect ‘big boy’ programme.
5. Yo Gabba Gabba. Another American show you may not have heard of, but another I highly recommend. You kinda have to watch this one to get what it’s about. It’s highly educational and really fun, and a bit weird. What’s not to love?! I particularly like the episode called ‘Eat’ where they teach about eating all food, not just the ‘nice’ stuff. Before you ask, no it hasn’t taught Lamb to eat. We are still working on that!
6. Charlie & Lola. A household favourite. This because a fave of Lambs after we visited CBeebies Land and he go to go inside Charlie & Lola’s house. I really love this show too. I certainly don’t mind this one on in the background on repeat…
7. Bambi. Don’t ask me why, but I put this on for Lamb last week. Now we watch it daily. Help me. I can’t see her die anymore!!
8. Mickey’s Twice Upon Christmas. Please Netflix, take this down until at least November 6th. He keeps making me watch it!!!
9. Pocahontas. He hasn’t watched this in while, but every now and then I’ll chose this to watch with him. I never got into it as a child, I was more of a Little Mermaid girl, but I really love it and think it’s one of the best Disney movies out there.
10. Despicable Me 2. Obviously.
So that’s what Lamb is loving right now. Hopefully his Netflix favourites will change soon and we can find some new programmes to share with you.

Our twins love Chicken Little and Despicable Me. I will check the other movies for them.
My granddaughter is going through the cycle of kids movies, programming so we will see which ones she settles on in a bit.

My kids love Netflix too. They have been watching a show called Sam Sam .My oldest also loves Chicken Little .
She sure knows her movies! I think we all grew up with Bambi!
Aww, poor Bambi! I remember watching this with my sisters and after the 100th time….yeah, it’s hard to keep watching over and over again 😛
My toddler is obsessed with NETFLIX and most importantly Paw Patrol. He loves it, but we don’t let him watch tv too often – or the other kids for that matter.
Anything in moderation is okay. I had my son watching TV when he was a kid but it was all in moderation. He learned off of it. He listened to musicals and danced to it. I think its all different strokes for different folks. As long as you know you’re doing good to your child, then no one should be able to tell you otherwise. I would let my son watch those shows. They all seem to be good ones.
My boys are 7 and 8 and they still love these shows. Their favorite is Curious George.
I used to watch many of those shows with my kids when they were little. Now they are older and we are on to Disney XD shows.
We just love Netflix! It’s perfect for the little ones too 🙂
What great choices! I have a sister who’s a lot younger and she used to watch Charlie and Lola and secretly I love it! I thin watching TV is fine as long as it’s in moderation, and I’m actually looking forward to Zach sitting and watching something so I can get stuff done! xx
Baby loves the TV too! I don’t see the issue as long as the get outside and are active etc. Baby watches Disney Junior and we both love Despicable Me! Thanks for linking up to #TheList x
My toddler loves TV too, like you say as long as it’s in moderation (on sick days it’s been a life saver!) We usually have cars on although he rather likes beauty and the beast, bless him! I used to love Sesame street, Big bird was my favourite!
