Here we go folks, buckle your seatbelts, we’re delving into another toy review. Let me introduce to you the Poopsie Slime Surprise Unicorn, a must have toy for Christmas, or so I’m told.
Okay you lovely people, before I was approached to do this review I must admit I wasn’t quite sure what I was getting myself in to; poop, slime, unicorns: every kids dream and every parents worst nightmare.
I’ve done the whole making slime craze and can confirm I am not a fan, nope, nadda! So I was sceptical about this toy, but here I am a true converter!
Now I’m not going to shout of the rooftops about how amazing a pooping unicorn is, but call me pleasantly surprised and I have a kid here who absolutely adores it, which is all that matters really.
So the toy itself comes adorned in a plastic cylinder tube decorated with rainbows, boasting 20 magic surprises and of course the surprise unicorn; there are four designs and each one as cute as the other. We kept the packaging as a container for all the small parts, and as it has a handy handle for little ones.
My daughter was not at all patient to get her mitts inside this tube of wonders. And as she ripped the thing apart, shiny packets went a flying to get to the true surprise. It’s cute, each of the slime mixture sets come in sparkly packages, enough to make four lots of slime. But the true gem is the unicorn, I really wasn’t expecting it to be so big. It really is similar to a baby doll, so it’s perfect for little ones to play mummy with; some of her baby bits even fit on this unicorn.
Also check out the fro, her hair is amazing! I am totally jealous of this one’s mop, so thick and luscious, oh my goodness the eyelashes on this lass are to die for. Heads up have a hairband on hand so it doesn’t get in the way of slime making!
As well as the slime mixes, it comes with an opening surprise keychain, perfect for holding made slime, a spoon to feed little one, a potty to collect the poop slime, hairbrush, outfit, bowl and an exclusive bottle.
So like I said, I’ve jumped on and off the bandwagon of slime creating so it was up to dad to conduct this experiment. It requires one packet of the slime mixture which is fed to unicorn, ‘Rainbow Brightstar’ via spoon; cute for teaching little ones to feed and finite motor skills. Once that step is finished you feed little miss some water, again using the spoon, then we fill the bottle with unicorn food and water, after a few shakes the bottle is fed again to unicorn. (Seriously this unicorn may eat more often than my fussy four year old!)
Now it’s time to shake the unicorn, remove the diaper and sit her down ready for pooping. Okay so in all honesty, my daughter could not do this without adult supervision. So no doubt I’ll have her nagging at me to make slime again. But I also feel that regardless of her age, supervision is pretty much required.
Also its a waiting game, and that’s not something my children understand. It takes twenty minutes for the slime to form properly. And I must admit ours took a little bit longer that till it wasn’t a sticky consistency, believe me you will know when it’s ready to be played with as it stops being tacky to touch.
So I now have one happy daughter with a new friend, who is carried everywhere, a packing case filled with sparkly accessories and a keyring filled with pink glitter slime, isn’t that every parents dream?
