Having kids comes with sacrifices. After all, you’ve got to give up a great deal of your time. There are a lot of things that you might have been able to do before having kids that you simply can’t anymore. However, that doesn’t mean that you have to give everything up!
One of the most common things that a lot of mums give up is our sense of style. It’s as though the moment you have kids, you’re supposed to entirely stop caring about how you look. But that doesn’t need to be the case, here are a few things that you can do in order to retain your sense of style even when you have kids.
Get Online
Online shopping might be one of the best things ever to happen to busy parents. After all, any parent can tell you just how much of a pain it can be to try and get your kids out of the house to do some shopping.
For many mums, the idea of being able to go shopping for themselves is simply unthinkable! However, being able to buy your clothing online, rather than trying to navigate busy stores with kids in tow, can be a real lifesaver. Not only that but it can also allow you to find the best possible deals. Things like ASOS voucher codes mean that you can get great deals on a whole range of different items from the comfort of your computer. There’s nothing quite like being able to find the perfect style without ever needing to leave the house! You all know how much I love ASOS!
Keep Things Simple
For many parents, the main reason that they lose interest in their style is time. It can often feel as though it takes a lot of time and effort that you simply don’t have. After all, when you’ve got your little ones running around underfoot, getting into all kinds of mischief, you hardly have the time to spend trying on different outfits and putting on your makeup. (Trust me, I know!)
Of course, that doesn’t mean that there aren’t some shortcuts that you can take in order to save time and make the whole thing much easier. For one thing, having fewer clothes overall can make a big difference. Just because you don’t have a huge selection doesn’t mean that you’re not going to be able to make the most of what you do have. Most people only really need a selection of a few key pieces that they can mix and match to create a whole variety of different looks for different occasions. I’ve got a very small selection of clothes and mix and match between them which I’ve found really helpful to save time.
Of course, none of this is to say that there’s anything wrong with losing interest in your style when you have kids. One of the major things about being a parent is just how much of an impact it can have on how you feel about various parts of your life. If you decide that you don’t really care about fashion anymore, then that’s just fine! But you shouldn’t feel as though your style is something that you need to give up if you don’t want to just because you’re a parent.
