Here we are featured in Perfect Wedding magazine.
There’s going to be a wedding! I’m in the middle of all the planning, so I thought i’d start writing down my progress, not only to share with you, but also as a way of documenting my journey, giving me something to look back on.
Daddy Lamb proposed to me in June 2012, on our holiday in Paphos, Cyprus. I was overwhelmed when he proposed. I was crying so much I couldn’t even say yes! So, a little nod gave him his answer. It was extremely romanic, something I wasn’t at all expecting if Joe would ever propose. We really do have an amazing story to tell Lamb when he grows up.
What is even more special about our trip to Cyprus, other than the proposal of the year, is it was on this holiday where Little Lamb was conceived! Yes! So Paphos has a very special place in our hearts.
The proposal didn’t go exactly to plan. He had decided to propose on a bench overlooking the sea, (see photo on left), but as we approached the bench, there was someone already sitting there, so Joe spent the rest of the evening panicking and trying to find an alternative spot. By this point something had triggered in my mind and I was a little suspicious. He was acting rather strange, and was pretty angry when someone sat on ‘the bench’. Obviously now I know why he was acting like that!
Joe’s proposal ended up being in the most magical location in Paphos. We were sat bya castle looking at the sea. We were completely alone, it was dark and so, so romantic. He got down on one knee and everything! I honestly couldn’t have wished for a better setting, everything was perfect.
When Joe proposed, it was never our intention to rush into a wedding. We were already trying for a baby so we knew it would be a couple of years before I was walking down the isle. It was after we registered Jaxson, and we gave him his dads surname, I realised how much I wanted to get married and make our little family official. I hate having a different surname to my own son.
Joe has bever been keen on a big wedding, and to honest, neither have I. He’s quite a private person, those who know him probably think I’m talking rubbish, but he can be slightly introvert and doesn’t want hundreds of people listening to him declare his love for me! However, things have changed after we recently attended one of my best friends weddings. Joe came away from that day knowing how special our day is going to be, how much it means to our friends and families, and how amazing I’m going to look!! Trust me, i’ve got my dress, it’s STUNNING. Ok, yes, he’s got to do a speech, and yes, it’s going to be nerve-wracking , but it’s only a tiny part of one of the best day’s our lives.
So here we are, the night we got engaged, the day we announced to his parents, and my ridiculously beautiful diamond ring. *happy face*
I’m looking forward to filling you in on my wedding planning journey, it’s so far so good, but I’m sure we will come across a problem at some point! (crosses fingers and hopes not)
Oh, and what am I most excited about? Seeing Little Lamb and Baby Bear all dressed up, of course!
