No matter what the weather is like during the Winter months, my boys LOVE going outside. Playing in the garden, going to the park, walking in the woods. Honestly, the weather could be arctic and they still run around like little puppies having insane amounts of fun.
Taking them out in the snow makes such a lovely day out, but I always worry about them being too cold.
Lamb rarely complains he’s cold and would happily go out without a coat on. Bear is so little I worry about his little fingers and toes getting frosty.

Footwear is something I’m useless with and I never have suitable winter boots. The boys have their wellies but I do worry their feet would be too cold in the snow. If there’s a chance of them getting wet I try to make sure they’re in extra layers that I can remove if I need to. Alternatively, I’ll take a rucksack with me with extra essentials, including spare socks!
This week we’ve had a hint of snow in our area again and if I’m honest I’m dreading it! I walk Lamb to school each day, and although I could drive if I really needed to, it’s so close it makes more sense to walk.
But I HATE walking in snow. I’m like Bambi! Pushing a pram in the snow isn’t too easy either. I babywear Bear as much as possible to make sure he’s warm and snug, but poor Lamb needs to make sure he’s wrapped up for the little winter walk to school.
Although the weather is cold, and we have to take extra precautions (you can find some tips from Slater & Gordon Lawyers below), snow days are so much fun and it shouldn’t deter you from spending time outdoors with your family. Even if you’re just in the garden building a snowman!
