If you haven’t heard of the brand Cuddledry then make sure you keep reading this review. This is the second product from Cuddledry we’ve owned and we love it even more than the first product.
The Original Cuddledry towel does exactly what it says in the name. It ‘cuddles dry’.
“Helen Wooldridge and Polly Marsh, two long-term friends, now working mums, conceived the original idea. Their first product was the Cuddledry baby apron bath towel – now a multiple award-winner and a ‘must-have’ for all new mums and dads.
Most baby towels are lightweight squares, which parents have to hold awkwardly under their chins or between their teeth in order to leave two hands free to lift baby. Helen and Polly came up with the Cuddledry baby apron bath towel to make bathtime easier, less stressful and most importantly, safer.
The Cuddledry baby apron towel attaches around your neck like an apron, so both hands are free. Lifting baby up out of the bath is easy and safe, and you cuddle and dry your baby in your arms naturally, strengthening the bond between you. The cosy hood goes over their head to keep them warm and calm. You don’t have to think about holding a towel at all.”
I’ll be honest with you. When I first tried this towel it began as a cape and I had to think for a moment how I would dry the baby with the towel behind me. I soon realised I had fastened the strap around my neck backwards… Let’s blame baby brain for that one.
One thing I love about the Original Cuddledry towel is the size. It’s huge! So much bigger than all of the standard square towels we had for Lamb.
As you can see I tried out the Cuddledry with Lambs dolly (good to get some practice in before baby number 2 arrives!) The towel covers most of your front allowing you to keep your clothes dry and rest the baby against a warm, dry towel. You then lift the towel up and around the baby and place the hooded corner over baby’s head to keep them warm. Obviously I was only using a dolly so I didn’t have too much drying to do, but I did notice the towel absorbed the water really well, and didn’t take long to dry off when we had finished.
I have to say I’m really looking forward to using this with baby number 2. It’s so soft and snuggly I can see myself sitting and cuddling baby boy all night long 🙂
This is definitely a highly recommended product from me. Perfect for any new parent, whether you’re buying for yourself or as a gift, you won’t be disappointed.
