With Valentines Day just around the corner I’ve been thinking about my favourite ‘rom-coms’ perfect for watching on this romantic day. Let’s be honest, it’s highly unlikely we will be out somewhere fabulous.
It’s quite easy to create a cinema evening in our living room. We have a fairly large Panasonic Viera TV on the wall and a comfy sofa to snuggle up on. All I’ll need to do is pick up some microwave popcorn and we’ve got ourselves the perfect date night at home… that’s if Lamb goes to bed on time. I’m not holding my breath.
First up is Love Actually
. Everyone’s favourite. Who doesn’t like this movie? It now has a sentimental place in everyone’s hearts after the terribly sad news about Alan Rickman. 🙁 He’s genuinely been one of my favourite actors since I was about 7 years old after we studied Robin Hood Prince of Thieves in primary school and recreated our own version of the movie! I, of course, got to play Maid Marion!
Next up is Notting Hill
. Another classic ‘rom-com’. Everyone should have this movie in their DVD collection. So easy to watch and perfect for Valentines Day.
I think Hugh Grant and Julia Roberts are the perfect pairing and Rhys Ifans is bloody hilarious!
Crazy, Stupid, Love
is the perfect movie for a Valentines date night in our house, even the hubby loves it! If you haven’t seen it I highly recommend it. Really funny, great love story and it stars Ryan Gosling! What more do you want for Valentines Day?!
I haven’t seen this movie in ages, so I definitely want to snuggle up and watch it this Valentines Day because I know I love it. It’s got a great cast, including Bradley Cooper… yum. You need to watch He’s Just Not That Into You this Valentines.
Finally, I couldn’t have a valentines movie list without the movie Valentine’s Day
! This film has an incredible cast and it should definitely be on your watch list this Valentines Day.
There are so many more movies I could add to this list. Romanic classics like Dirty Dancing – on of my faves. Or tear jerkers like Dear John and The Notebook and Ghost, but I can’t handle those. Way too emotional for a pregnant woman.
What are your favourite Valentines Day movies?

I’m not really one for American Romance movies, but I do love a british rom com and Love Actually and Notting Hill are two of my favourites xx
Mmm, the trick is to find a partner who wants to watch a soppy film instead of watching football. Great list, though!
