In most rental properties you can’t paint or redecorate so my tip is to use soft furnishing to give it a personal touch and a pop of colour. Think about rugs, cushions and throws that can help inject some colour and personality into a room, whilst still keep your security deposit safe!

If you private rent make sure your landlord is easy to contact – ours moved to Thailand and made it very difficult to contact when things went wrong, not to mention costly for us when things like the oven broke or the roof was damaged by a tree. Readyfreddiego.com
