As the weather brightens up it’s time to look inside our wardrobe at what items can be transitioned into the warmer months. I’ll admit, I don’t have many clothes. Finances don’t allow it, as well as an awkward body shape and fluctuating clothes size.
I wear a lot of autumnal colours; I’m naturally drawn to warm tones like khaki and mustard, as well as chunky jumpers and boots. It’s what I feel most comfortable in.
I was asked by FashionWorld to pick some items from their website to update my wardrobe. I’ve had these items a while now and due to the flu at the beginning of the year and my blog being down for a few weeks I’m just getting round to sharing them with you.
I’ve lusted after a pink teddy coat for as long as I can remember. I’ve ordered some from a couple of places and ended up sending everything I’ve tried back, because they just didn’t suit my figure.
When I saw Fashion World had one (in the exact style I want) I of course picked it as one of my items. And in total honesty – it’s AMAZING. You only have to look at my Instagram grid to see I’ve worn it a lot over the last few months.
I ordered the coat in a size 12 and it’s perfect for me. My hips are a size 14 but my upper body is a 8/10/12 (all depending where I shop) so I need something that will cover my bottom half, but won’t sag off my small chest and shoulders.
As you can see from the photos it fits really well. (The tugging is because my hand is in the pocket). I don’t feel like it’s too tight on my bum, and with the addition of a scarf if its cool, my chest stays warm.
The style off the coat also means it looks great worn unfastened, which is unusual for me. I normally hate keeping my coat undone. But as this is a blazer style, it suits being worn both ways.
As well as having a great fit, the colours is lush (not too sickly) and the fabric is really soft. And most importantly – it actually keeps me warm!
The coat is called the Dusty Pink Teddy Faux Fur Coat and retails at £70. A little more than I could usually afford to pay BUT for a decent coat you can’t be too frugal. After testing this coat I would honestly pay the full retail price for it. But it’s currently on sale for £56 so if you’re after a coat like this then grab it in the sale!
The next items I chose are the black jeans and black boots I’m wearing. I honestly think you need a pair of black jeans and black boots all year round. Jeans can be worn for evenings out with a blouse, or the boots can be worn with floaty dresses for a more edgy look. As it’s still quite chilly I’m getting a lot of wear from these items and most likely will do right up until the hot months.
The jeans are called Lucy High Waisted Super Soft Skinny Jeans and I have to say they fit really well. As a very curvy girl I often have to size up to fit my hips, but then my waist is too big. As I’ve put a bit of wait on this year I’m fitting into a size 14 conformably, whereas a few months ago I was a 12, but preferred a 14 for comfort.
I always buy high waisted jeans so they sit over my ‘mum tum’ and cover my Kardashion booty. I am really impressed with the Lucy jeans from Fashion World. They are soft and wear well. I am definitely going to update my wardrobe with a couple more pairs of these jeans.
They retail at £25 and I think it’s absolutely worth the price tag.
The boots I chose are the Dela Biker Boot Wide Fit. Now, I don’t need a wide fit, but I often find boots start to rub if I’m wearing chunky socks and I much prefer them a little looser.
These are definitely not too wide at all and very, very comfortable. They retail at £45, which very reasonable and come in wide fit or extra wide fit.
As this was the first time I’d ordered from Fashion World I had no idea what to expect. Looking at their site I was immediately impressed with the variety of products on offer. Not only that, but they use plus size and curvy models as they specialise in larger sizes, however they start from a size 10!
Oh and to my joy, they also sell make-up! Ranging from W& to Pixi. So you can really treat yourself from one website.
I honestly can’t rave about the products I chose enough. Although I am working with the website and am being compensated for my time reviewing the products, I genuinely love them.
So I’m being completely transparent, I will add that the side seam in my cost came undone, and as the coat is lined, it would be tricky for me to fix. I contacted the PR and was immediately sent a new one. As I didn’t deal with the brand directly I’m not 100% sure on the returns process with faulty items, however there’s many ways to send something back if you need to.
If you’re looking to freshen up your wardrobe, then take a look at Fashion World, you’ll be pleasantly surprised!
