As sad as it is to admit, summer is winding down and soon the nights will be drawing in, and the weather will be getting colder again. All of these things mean that autumn and winter will soon be upon us, and the longing for summer sun will start again.
For your home, the colder months bring changes as well. Closing the curtains sooner, turning the heating up and on more frequently and bringing those cosy blankets that you packed away in May back out again. Your garden also goes through some significant changes as the weather gets colder. Plants start to lose their flowers, any fruit and veg you’ve been growing will likely be past its best, and the grass can really suffer.
One way to stop your grass from suffering is to replace it with artificial grass. There are many benefits to artificial grass, and there are my top three favourites!
No mud
It may seem obvious, but this can make such a difference to your home and enjoying your garden, not just in the autumn and winter months but, all year round. By installing artificial grass, you no longer have to deal with a muddy garden and the problems which can come from it. If you have pets or young children, you will know just how problematic it can be cleaning up muddy paw and footprints through the house. Artificial grass allows anyone to go into the garden and even if it’s been raining for three days straight, come back into the house with just wet feat, rather than muddy ones. It also means when there are dry days, and kids want to play in the garden, they can do easily without having to avoid muddy puddles and patches.
No reseeding
To overcome the mud and get natural grass back to its best, you often need to reseed your garden to help the grass grow back. With artificial grass, there is no need to do this as the durable fibres can withstand the winter weather and still look their best when summer comes round again next year. It should also go without saying that with no need to grow new grass, there is also no need to cut the grass as it grows. The length of your artificial grass can be decided when you install it.
Ready for any nice weather
There are times during autumn and winter when the sun comes out, and you get a beautiful clear day. It’s days like these you want to enjoy your outside space without having to think about making the garden presentable to friends or family. With artificial grass, because there is no mud and no wear or fade during bad weather, you’re all set to go right away and make the most of any good weather. If you are entertaining on artificial grass, you don’t need to worry about spilling food or drinks, these can usually just be cleaned up and the area rinsed with water.
If you are interested in installing artificial grass, it is always best to go to a professional as they will be able to best advise you on costs and installation. Also, it is worth looking into the range of options available regarding length and colour to find one that will best suit your garden and your needs.
