A couple of months ago we took Lamb on his second holiday abroad to sunny Gran Canaria. While we were there we really wanted to improve his confidence in the water, as on our previous holiday he seemed a little scared.
It’s safe to say we had a little water baby on our hands!
We were lucky enough to be gifted a Swimfree Floatsuit from Zoggs for Lamb to use while on holiday, and I am so glad!
The suit is so good for a number of reasons. Firstly, the suit inflates giving Lamb that extra bit of safety when in the water, allowing him to practice controlling his arms and legs. Secondly, the suit allows the parent to hold the more securely and takes away some of the weight in the water. Finally, it protects from the sun! We decided to put Lamb in his float suit even when he wasn’t in the water as we knew his skin would be safe from the rays and he wouldn’t burn. It also keeps them warm in the water.
A little bit about the floatsuit…
- Adjustable buoyancy which allows you lessen the amount of buoyancy as your child gains confidence in water.
- Made with UPF50+ fabric – the highest level of sun protection found in the clothing.
- Suitable for ages 1-2 years (11-15kg) and 2-3 years (15-18kg).
- Available in 2 colours: Zoggy (blue and orange) or Miss Zoggy (pink).
- RRP £22.00

The floatsuit is really easy to inflate. There’s a mouth piece under a flap on the front and one on the back. I found it easiest to put Lamb in the suit first, then inflate. The floatsuit stayed inflated all day long and we didn’t need to top up at all.
The float suit fastened with a zip at the back which was really easy to pull up and down and was covered so it didn’t irritate Lambs skin.
I was honestly really impressed with the Zoggy Swimfree Floatsuit. As you can see from the photographs Lamb looks really comfortable on his front in the water. He genuinely gained confidence by having the extra buoyancy from the floats. He was able to enjoy swimming rather than worrying about going under the water. And you know what? After a few days in the pool he didn’t mind getting his head wet and actually jumped in himself! (With Daddy ready to catch him of course).
If you’re thinking about taking your toddler swimming, start swimming lessons or are going on a winter sun holiday, I highly recommend this floatsuit from Zoggs. Alternately you could visit their website and see what other products they have available.
