I was tagged by the lovely Emma from Sophie Ella & Me to answer a few questions about 2016 and the new year. If you haven’t read Emma’s blog before, please go over and take a look, her blog is beautiful. Also, make sure you’re following her on instagram, she’s one of my faves!
So here are the questions…
What was your highlight of 2016?
It would have to be the (very speedy) birth of my little bear cub. He shot into our lives and has made the most amazing impact on our family. I hate to be cheesy, but he really has completed us.
Name one thing you are likely to remember about 2016 if asked in 5 years time.
Most likely the sleep deprivation. I haven’t slept properly since Bear was born in May and I’m ending this year with several wake ups from my little light sleeper. The poor boy really struggles to sleep for long periods of time (unless he’s being cuddled!)
Sum up 2016 in one word.
Exhausting. Physically and mentally exhausting. Not only from the arrival of our second son, but from the from family days out, long car journeys to weekends away, celebrating. As well as the sleep deprivation. It’s been a bit of a whirlwind!
Name one pearl of wisdom that you will carry through 2017.
They’re only little once.
Do you have any New Year resolutions?
Next year I want to lose the rest of my baby weight. I have 2 stone to lose (I’ve already lost 1) and my goal is May. I also want to get into a better routine with the boys and working and I want to set certain times to work
I also want to soak up every possible moment with Lamb before he starts school in September!!!
How are you seeing in the new year?
I’m currently sat in my pjs writing this post! We just ate the most amazing spaghetti bolognese (my brothers recipe) and I’ve had a sneaky glass of prosecco.
Oh, and we’re watching Kung Fu Panda 2 with Lamb.
What would you most like to do in 2017?
I just want to do more things as a family. More walks in the woods, more movies nights and more days out.
I also want to visit my family in Yorkshire much more.
What are your main goals for 2017?
To figure out if I can actually have a freelance career working in social media management and monetising my blog. It’s certainly going in the right direction, but I want to increase my income to match what a part time job would offer.
And of course I want to develop my clothing range and expand my brand.

Thank you so much for the kind words! And I really enjoyed reading this! I also hope we can make the most of the time we have before Sophie starts school in September too. It’s so scary isn’t it?! I hope 2017 is a great year for you! X
