Squeeze a Juice of a large Orange into a glass top up with hot water and drink! I use to have this as a child and still do. Great if you have sore throat as well!

make your own lemsip ;- cut up lemons into a bowl and some honey cover with boiling water taste when cooled a bit to see if you need any more honey add some if you do, you can drink this as much as you want, you just need to take paracetamol following the instructions, I use this all the time when I have a cold in the winter or summer

If you have a sore and scratchy throat there is nothing better to drink than hot fruit flavoured squash or make your own honey and lemon drink. It is really effective and honestly does help to soothe your throat. Take Vitamin D supplements and drink Green Tea!

Use Aloe Vera tissues as they really save your nose from getting sore.
Take a berocca tablet daily to make sure your vitamins are topped up

Wear a hat and scarf that can cover your mouth and nose which protects you from germs flying around and always always wash your hands plus eat good warming food and get the flu jab it does work

Lots of rest and lots of sleep! Trying to battle through it usually just makes it last a lot longer for me, better to take the time to rest and recover quicker.
I take vitamin C every day as well as ensure I encourage good hanadwashing routine in the house and after we have been outside.

Tackle the symptoms of colds with over-the-counter medicines such as aspirin, paracetamol, cough syrups and lozenges. Look for lozenges with a strong taste. Strong flavours will promote salivation to help coat and soothe a sore throat. You can also try putting your head over a steaming bowl of hot water for five minutes to help soothe and clear the airways.

My tip is raw garlic, if you can stand it eating a clove of raw garlic does wonders as it has powerful antibacterial properties 🙂

I just try and stay away from people who are ill, I try to wash hands if I’ve been in contact with possibly contaminated surfaces and get enough vit C not much you can do really especially if you have kids in school/nursery.
Topping up with Vitamin C always seems to keep the colds at bay for me
