Every year I get asked what I want for my birthday, and every year I struggle with gift ideas. I rarely go shopping because in all honesty I don’t have any money, so what’s the point!
The one thing you can always buy me, and I will always want, is make-up. Buy me ALL the make-up!
To be honest I definitely have enough of the stuff, but I love trying new brands and products so I’ll never be disappointed if you buy me some more.
A brand I’ve recently fallen in love with is Sleek. I first got a selection of their products last Christmas and have been building my collection ever since. Their lip creams are my absolute fave (I have about 15!)
My fave everyday colour is ‘Birthday Suit’ which you can buy here.
They sent me a selection of their new range to feature in this gift guide, including their brand new lip kits in collaboration with @amysmakeupbox.
I’m quite a confident lipstick wearer so will try anything and am a sucker for a deep coloured lipstick. So of course I absolutely love these lip kits. The lip kits I’ve been sent are gorge. There’s a mix of metallic and matts in vivid red and pink shades. ‘Mates before Dates’ is absolutely LUSH.
You can buy them online from Boots and they’re only £7.99!
I was also sent their new Stonework eyeshadow palette, which is made up of a selection of grey and pink cream eyeshadows. These colours are so perfect for me to wear day or night. I use more of the softer pinks during the day and build up with the darker grey for the evening.
If you’re buying make-up for someone for their birthday or Christmas, it might be a nice idea to buy them a new make-up bag too. If you’re like me, you can never have enough make-up bags!
The design above is from my own brand Ada & Alfred and it comes in both black/gold and natural/copper.
Pretty much every birthday I ask for my favourite perfume. I’ve been wearing it for years and I just can’t seem to fall in love with another scent like I have this one. Lancome La Vie Est Belle will always be my favourite.
I also love having succulents around the home, and my lovely friend Lucy bought me this quirky pineapple plant from Next. It’s the perfect addition to my living room (especially as I recently managed to kill, yes KILL, a lovely succulent in a copper plant pot).
You can buy plants like the one above from lots of places, including supermarkets, so it’s a really quick and easy go-to gift for birthdays or Christmas.
A couple more samples I’ve been sent are ones perfect for those who are conscious of the amount of plastic they’re using.
First up is the bkr glass water bottle, which I absolutely LOVE. It comes with a rubber case for protection and is available in a variety of stylish colours. If you know someone who likes to carry a bottle of water with them a lot, and is conscious of using plastic bottles, this would be the perfect gift choice for them.
I was also sent the Humble Brush, a 100% sustainable bamboo toothbrush that both lasts as long a regular toothbrush and cleans just as well. The brand sell a variety of products, so if you’re looking to reduce your plastic use, then definitely check them out.
As I collect a lot of make up, I need a home to keep all of it. I have smaller bags for the products I’m using regularly, but need to organises the rest of my collection better.
I love this copper and pink make up case. It’s the perfect case to store all of my products and keep them neatly in one place. At the moment I have small collections of make-up in almost every room in the house!
I love my prints from Desenio, and I’m sure a selection of prints or pictures would be an amazing gift for someone. My bedroom and living room is complete, but I’d love prints for the dining room and hallways, so there’s always room for more!
So there’s a few birthday or Christmas gift ideas to get you started or give you some inspiration. Remember, if you’re really stuck a gift voucher for somewhere like Debenhams or ASOS is a great shout as they both sell a variety of products to choose from.
