A few weeks ago I was invited to take part in a Quiz Clothing blogger secret Santa campaign. Normally I’d be a little hesitant, as my fashion sense just really isn’t up to scratch these days. I live in my Selfish Mother sweater and skinny jeans.
But this would be me choosing an outfit for something else, and if there’s one thing I adore, its shopping for other people. So I took on the challenge and was teamed up with Whats Hot Blog. Head over to her blog if you want to see the outfit I picked out for her.
Before we chose the outifts we had a little look at each others blog and Instagram feeds to get an idea of our taste and style. I’ll be honest, I did give my secret Santa a point in the right direct with what to pick because I don’t have a lot of photos of myself online.
I have a really pear shaped figure (I’m 2-3 sizes bigger on the bottom) so buying clothes can be super difficult. At first we were told to choose a Christmas party dress, but that just isn’t possible for me, so I told my secret Santa to choose separates to make sure I’d get something that fits me.
Well, I can now reveal what I was sent and I LOVE IT! (The jeans are a little ‘out there’ but I can make them work).
I’ve never shopped with Quiz before, although I have seen their clothing quite a bit. I spend most of my evenings snuggled under my fleecy blanket with the Kardashians on repeat. So it’s not the place I’d think of shopping at.
Their selection of products is very stylish and glam. If you’re looking for a bit of glitz then Quiz is the place to go. I was worried I’d be sent something that I’d feel a little silly in. I’m just not that confident with dressing up anymore and prefer to feel comfortable.
I have to say Whats Hot Blog picked out some amazing items for me and really got my taste. The rose embroidered jumper has to be my favourite piece from the look. I was sent a size small and it fits really well. I’m an 8-10 on top an Das you can see the fit is a little loose on me. But I like it like that as I don’t want my mum tum on show!
I love the embroidered detailing and the chiffon frill around the hem. It’s a really nice touch to make this more of a versatile piece. I could easily dress it up, or wear it will casual jeans in the day.
The fur waterfall waistcoat is also an amazing piece. This is exactly the sort of thing I would buy. It’s long enough to cover up my Kardashian bum, but still able to show off my smaller top half. I can see myself wearing this A LOT over Christmas.
The jeans are a little ‘bling’ for me as they are covered in quite big diamontes. My husband actually thinks they look really good on me, but I think it may be a bit much glitz for my taste. Having said that, looking back at the photos I don’t hate them as much as I thought I would.
I was sent a size 14 and they fit perfectly. In somewhere like Next I vary between a 12 and a 14, so I’d say these jeans come up a little smaller.
I was also sent some fab accessories. The boots were a nice touch to the outfit. There are lots of little crystals around the top making them a bit more special for a Christmas night out. They are really comfortable (although I haven’t worn them for a long period of time yet) and the fit was fine.
The final touch to my outfit was a little fury clutch bag, Anyone who knows me well, knows I’m a sucker for some faux fur. This bag is super cute and I’d definitely use this over and over again.
I think you can tell I’m over the moon with my outfit. I was so worried about taking part in this bloggers secret Santa because I have such an awkward figure. And as Ive never shopped at Quiz before I had to hope the sizes I sent them would be correct.
