Valentine’s Day is just around the corner, so we thought a little post on what to buy a mum might come in handy. (Yes, dishy dads, this is aimed at you).
As new mums, Vicky and I both agree the one thing we’d love is time to ourselves. A little time to relax, unwind, and generally sit in silence. A glass of wine, trashy magazine and a quiet house would be the best present ever.
So, dads, why not treat your beautiful other half to some much needed R&R.
Our top tips on treating your yummy mummy.
1) Lie in. Yes it’s that easy.
Get her favourite breakfast in, buy her favourite magazine, and take the kids out for the morning. If your little one is still up in the night, take over the night feeds too. You will be her Mr Wonderful for weeks to come.
2) Dinner, wine and feet up evening.
Tell her that from 6pm she has nothing more to do. Then run her a bath, with some candles (yes we’re a sucker for a candle) and pour her a glass of her favourite vino. Then cook her up a feast, with a yummy dessert.
3) Treat her to a massage. (A proper one, in a salon).
There’s nothing better than being pampered. Whether it’s a massage, facial or manicure -we’d love it all. If you’re in Colchester, then Aimez-Vous have some great packages. You can see what’s on offer here.
4) Just a note.
This is a time for you to say thank you. Take some time out to write a proper letter, not just a scribble in a card from moonpig. (We can’t be won over that easily). This really will pull at her heart strings.
5) Get personal.
You’re lucky you have a baby together now. So you’ll definitely get brownie points for getting her a nice framed family photo or a personalised print. Get yourself on notonthehighstreet.com.
Vicky’s other half had her Instagram photos printed on marshmallows. Yes, that really is possible. Check out Boomf.
We’ve done the hard bit for you. Now, go get your romance on dishy dads!
