Battling with Bakugan! Arena & Starter Pack Review

Anyone with a child of similar age to Lamb, will be well aware of the current craze of collectable type toys. I mean, our house is full ofd them! This review is the latest one he’s obsessed with!

Bakugan is is a popular kids TV show (we’re currently watching on Netflix) very similar to a few other shows Lamb is hooked on. And recently we were sent the Battle Arena and Starter Pack to review.

At first, we were totally confused by the rules of the game (well my husband was!) but after a few tries it was figured out and Lamb (who turned 7 in March) soon understood how to play.

The aim of the game is to be the first to open your Bakugan characters by rolling them onto the arena board. You then gain points using cards etc. If you want to play quickly and simply, you could just roll the Bakugan in turns to see who opens up their team first, without using the cards. This is how we play with Bear, who just turned 4.

Even if you don’t have the Bakugan Arena, you can play on a flat surface, although it does make the game more fun using the whole set.

 

If you have a child who is already interested in collectable card type games, I definitely this they will enjoy Bakugan. Lamb was certainly very excited when he got his.

 

You can purchase the Bakugan products from Amazon, Smyths, Argos and The Entertainer. Lamb really wants to add the collectors case to his collection so he doesn’t lose any of his Bakugan!

 

The prices of the Bakugan collection vary from £6.99 for a single Bakugan Brawler pack to £44.99 for the Dragonoid Maximus transforming figure. To start up your collection certainly wouldn’t cost the Earth.

Indeed, these are one of those things where it’s worth paying slightly more than usual, especially since you’ll be using them more or less every day. You’ll especially feel the quality of your plush towels on those cold winter mornings, too.

Meccano Dinosaurs Review

Now that Christmas is officially a thing of the past, our little ones are once again on the nagging for new toys to keep them entertained. Perhaps not all of you are in the same boat, but either way here at Lamb and Bear we want to give you some long lasting finds for little ones to keep entertained.

Starting off with the brand we all grew up with Meccano. Don’t you remember the days of highlighting your wish list, argos catalogue in hand, landing on the meccano metal helicopters and motorcycles! And not much has changed for this steam focused brand, its still a number one choice for kiddos all around the world.

We have been so fortunate to be sent the dinosaur set which comes with instructions on how to build 10 different models! Yes everything from raptor, to terrifying T-rex! The pack itself comes with 179 parts split up in plastic bags, including a screw driver and wrench for your metal screws and bolt. Can you tell I have no idea what I’m saying, mechanics are not my forte. But luckily we have a nice instruction booklet explaining each step simply.

I say simply, but in execution it is pretty fiddly. As a 30 year old women I had to bite my tongue from cursing, the parts are too tiny for my fat fingers perhaps. So I cant quite see my eight year old having the patience for the build.

So I would say this is definitely a family building activity, check out that double meaning! It surely did allow us to spend an hour together, and with a cool project to show for it. And he had a smile on his face the whole time!

Go Glam Nail Stamper Review

go glamThis just in…. Arabellas new nail salon officially open!!! Get those claws and tootsies ready for summer sandals. My little one is in charge with the help of Go Glam Nail Stamper!!

Now usually when there is any kid talk of makeovers or nail polish, I’m the first one heading for the hills, too many a time has my lipstick been coated along my teeth, eyeshadow on the forehead, and polish having more coverage on the skin that the nails. However this time we have a little bit of help this kit, which is honestly so simple, I’m entrusting my five year old with it.

The kit comes with the stamper, five sets of stamping tape, a purple polish, a blue polish, top coat, in a cute travel bag with a nail file attached. It’s all you need for a cute manicure, with designs featuring cupcakes, unicorns, hearts, kitty cats and flamingos!! Arabella of course had to choose two different designs, but it’s honestly so easy to switch out the stamper the whole process can be done in less that 20 minutes.

We found a handy youtube tutorial which explained everything down to a t! And if you don’t have that to hand, there is always the simple instructions included which explains how long to wait between coats, how to press down to get that even stamp and what to do in the event of the stamper getting stuck.

 

Now with anything beauty centred I can be a bit pessimistic, maybe I’m still jaded from a misfortune in my youth, with heart crimpers not working, but in all honesty I was truly surprised with just how easy and well this product worked. Super easy for even little ones to practice their new looks. It also comes with enough to cover 125 nails so the longevity is also clearly there. And for the price of only £25.00 with additional set designs and colours also available we know this is going to be kept for years to come. Its already made it’s way to mine, dads and her second design- and fun fact hers has lasted five days on, which is a feat considering I once gelled them, and she picked them off the same day!
