Fisher-Price very kindly sent us the Rainforest Music & Lights deluxe play gym to review with BB. As we have a fairly small house with limited floor space we struggle to find products suitable for BB that don’t take up too much space.
This play gym is a nice and compact size; it’s perfect for our cosy living room and we actually keep it out most of the time.
It has 3 play options. Firstly baby can ‘lay & play’, looking up at the hanging animals and toys. BB particularly like the zebra (he loves black and white toys). Secondly it’s great for tummy time. Luckily BB loves being on his front (unlike his big brother who suffered with colic), and has spent a lot of time focussing on the bright colours and pictures on the mat. He loves the crinkle leaf you can see on the left of the image below. He holds onto this and chews it during tummy time. Finally there is sit up play. The removable toucan is ideal for older babies who can sit and hold the toy that features colour changing lights and up to 20 minutes of music.
All of the toys are removable which is great for when your little one grows and may want to hold the animals individually rather than attached to the bars.
The mat is super easy to put together. You simply attach the bars in the holes in each corner and clip together in the middle. Once this is done, the arches are very secure and sturdy. I actually read a review on Amazon.com where they complain the bird was leaning to one side and fell off the top without being pushed. They clearly hadn’t clipped everything into place and just balanced the bird on top.
As long as you follow the instructions this won’t happen. It’s a completely inaccurate review.
As you can see from the photos, the rainforest play gym is brightly coloured and very detailed, something significant of Fisher-Price toys. We also have the Fisher-Price Rainforest Space-Saver Jumperoo which we also love (I’ll review this separately).
If you are looking for a fun-filled play mat for your baby, that doesnt take up too much space then I definitely recommend this Fisher-Price play gym.
Keep an eye out for my space saving jumperoo review coming soon.

As you can see the truck is a decent size so will withstand lots of playing. Which is a good thing, as Lamb seems to like chucking this around the house!
Having a child who loves stickers, enjoys drawing, always asks to read stories and gets excited about puzzles, BUT loses interest pretty quickly, I’m reluctant to spend a lot of money on these areas of activities.

What’s great about the swim trainer is you can be totally hands free and know your baby can float safely next to you. As soon as we put BB into his ring we could tell he felt safe and secure. He didn’t wriggle or complain, he didn’t make a sound. He was happy and content.
Overall I really love this product and I’m quite surprised more parents don’t own one! As a family we love going swimming. My husband takes Lamb after pre-school on Friday evenings and I take BB for lessons on Friday lunch times.
When I was pregnant with BB it was always my intention to combination feed him. After my
