In early August we will be heading to a friends wedding and of course that means a new dress for me! I’ve been searching my favourite place to shop online, ASOS, for something that will not only compliment my curves, but that is also breastfeeding friendly.
I hate being stuck in the maternity/nursing department just because I’m breastfeeding, so I’ve decided to look for alternatives with suitable necklines or openings for easy boobie access.
Over the past few weeks I’ve found wearing shirts quite useful for breastfeeding, for obvious reasons, however they are fiddly so I’ve decided against button front dresses. To me the easiest option is to go for a wrap front in a fairly stretchy fabric. That way I can quickly latch BB on with no fuss opening buttons.
After a few hours searching through the thousands of options in the ASOS Outlet, here is what I’ve found. ..

As I mentioned before these are all from the ASOS Outlet so are all in the sale – even better. I have actually already bought one (the floral black maxi) and it fits well and is perfect for breastfeeding! Success!
If you’re a breastfeeeder I hope this post has inspired you a little and you can now go and find yourself the perfect breastfeeding occasion dress.

Having a newborn isn’t easy, especially during the night. Those little monkeys just love sleeping on your chest don’t they! I had completely forgotten what it was like to try and get a baby to sleep in their crib for the first time. For the first week BB was at home we co-slept. It was the only way we would both get some sleep, and trust me, those few hours of sleep you can grab in the early days are vital.
There are a number of designs available in 2 different weights. Cosy or Light. We received the ‘Make A Wish Gro-Snug’ in the light weight which is suitable in warm rooms between 21 and 25 degrees.
As BB is so wriggly I struggled with using a blanket to swaddle meaning I was unable to get him settled in his crib. The first time I used the Gro Snug I saw improvements. Each time BB stirred rather than waking himself up and crying, he would wriggle a little, but the comfort of his arms being secure in the Gro Snug helped him self-settle quickly and calmly. I genuinely saw a difference after using the Gro Snug.
There are things that happen to our bodies during and after pregnancy that women are often embarrassed about and ashamed of. But ladies, there’s no need to be, it happens to the best of us! Growing and carrying a baby is a blessing and what our bodies are built for. We should never be embarrassed about what happens in the process. It’s all part of the journey.
