I can’t go out of the house without wearing make-up. I just can’t. (Ok, maybe if I’m just dropping Lamb to nursery, I won’t bother, but most days I put on something).
My daytime make up routine really depends on what I’m doing that day. I can spend 3 minutes putting on a little foundation and mascara or I can spend 15 minutes putting on a full face.
As part of my routine I’ve been using some of the Boots Botanics All Bright range to help improve my daytime make up look. What I love about the Botanics products is that they’re inspired by nature using “powerful plant extracts” and some are organic. Working with scientists from the Royal Botanic Garedns, Kew, they are able to “authenticate the best active ingredient, then hand pick extracts to get the desired benefits for each skin type.”
In the evening I use the All Bright Purifying Face Scrub to ensure my face is clean and any left over make up and dead skin is scrubbed away. I struggle with breakouts, particularly on my chin (I have done most of my adult life) so I try to make sure I thoroughly clean my face before going to bed.
When I wake up I use the All Bright Micellar 3 in 1 Cleansing Solution to clean my face and remove any make up I may have missed the night before (no matter how hard you scrub, you’ll always find a bit of foundation somewhere!) I love this product. It’s so good at removing tough make up like mascara and eye liner, which I wear a lot of.
Before applying my make up I use a little of the All Bright Hydrating Day Cream. I can get dry skin so I need to keep my skin hydrated so this product is perfect for that. It’s also SPF 15 which is so important as I’m fair skinned and need to keep my skin protected.
Because I’m quite pale I find blemishes are really noticeable and due to having an 16 week old baby I can look tired and worn out. I like adding some sort of brightening cream or highlighter to my make up routine so I’ve been using the All Bright Radiance Balm (which is apparently super similar to the Mac Strobe Cream!) This product is yummy. It smell nice and rubs in really well.
The first time I used this product I had a comment on how my skin was glowing, a coincidence or not I was chuffed they said it!

My daily make up routine can vary depending on what I’m doing. If I know I’m going to be at home I’ll just put on the bare minimum, but if we are going out I’ll use a few more products. You can read my detailed make up routine here.
90% of the time I’ll put on foundation, concealer and powder. I have to do my base or I’ll just look ill. That’s why I love the All Bright Radiance Balm. It just helps brighten my complexion.
For a bit of contouring and colour I use a bronzer and highlighter, but not if I’m in a hurry. I love liquid eyeliner, but this can be a little harsh for everyday use. I always go for a black mascara as my eyelashes are very fair.
For my eyebrows I love using a brush on product rather than a pencil. I find it looks much more natural.
Finishing the look I always add a bit of lip colour, usually something nude but if I don’t use a liquid eyeliner and keep my eyes subtle than I may go for a stronger lip colour.
So here’s my final daytime look…
