We absolutely, most definitely, DO NOT need any more books for the boys in our house.
BUT, we just love buying them new ones to add to their collection.
Lamb is currently learning to read so I have bought him a couple of Peppa Pig level 1 reading books to pop in his stocking, and Bear absolutely adores the That’s Not My books.
If, like me, you want to get your little ones some books this year then here’s a last minute list of great children’s Christmas books available on Amazon Prime. (So you’ll get them in time for the big day!)
One I know both of the boys will enjoy is The Christmas Bear. This is a lift-the-flap book, so great to keep Bears attention focussed on the book, but also lots of fun for Lamb to get involved while reading with his little brother.
Being big fans of Dear Zoo, I know the boys will really love Dear Santa. Although Lamb is older, I still like to buy board books so he can share books with his brother. Bear destroys paper pages and Lamb gets rather annoyed when he does.
I really like the look of The Mouse That Cancelled Christmas. I think it’s one that lamb would really enjoy. The words are big and bold, and there aren’t too many on each page. Perfect for while he’s learning to read.
I absolutely loved The Jolly Postman and owned it as a child. I bought it for Lamb a couple of years ago and although he rarely reads it, when he does he refers to it as his “favourite book”. This year he will be getting The Jolly Christmas Postman under the tree. A book I never got round to owning as a child, so I’m just as excited as he will be!
As we are huge fans of The Jolly Postman, I really want to buy Peppa’s Christmas Post for Bear. He is accumulating a lovely collection of Peppa Pig books, so it would be lovely to add this one. I know Lamb would love to read it too.
Another book perfect for Bear is Ben and Holly’s Christmas Adventure. He is just as obsessed with that fairy and elf as he is the the pig. Another great stocking filler for him.
I first spotted this author around halloween when I found 10 Little Monsters and loved the look of the book. I’ve now found 10 Little Elves and this one looks fab too! The paperback is only £3.99 so this will be going in Lambs stocking.
Lamb already has a few of these books which we reviewed a couple of years ago. He loves them even more as he’s got older. I think that’s because he’s become fascinated with poo! Is that the same with every 5 year old?! The Dinosaur That Pooped Christmas will be just as hilarious as the ones already on his bookshelf I’m sure.
The boys already have plenty of the That’s Not My books, so I’d would be more than happy to add a Christmassy one to it. We bought Bear That’s Not My Reindeer for his first Christmas, so this Christmas it will be That’s Not My Elf or That’s Not My Snowman.
We are big fans of Beatrix Potter and already have the complete collection of Peter rabbits books. These aren’t suitable for Bear to read, and well, I’m a little protective over them, so this Peter Rabbit: A Christmas Wish can be just for him.
There are so many lovely books on this list I’d buy them all if I could!
