Each year I buy myself a chocolate advent calendar, and each year I forget to eat it (or my husband gets to it first). The thing is, one tiny chocolate doesn’t cut it for me, I need something more substantial. Something that’s more of a festive treat.
So you can imagine how delighted I was when First 4 Hampers sent me their Gin and Tonic Advent Calendar to review! O.M.G. All the gin.
I’m a recent gin and tonic convert, but since that first Hendricks and elderflower tonic, with a couple of slices of cucumber, I literally can’t get enough of the stuff.
Now, as it’s not the 1st yet I haven’t tried the gin or any of the tonics. But I’ve taken a sneaky peek under some of the doors to see what you get in the calendar.

As you can see the box starts with a central door where you’ll find the gin. In the advent calendar you receive a 70cl bottle of The Lakes gin to use with each tonic you get throughout the box. I’ve never tried this gin before, but I’m sure it will be amazing. I’ll let you all know on Insta Stories on Friday!
Each day offers you a different tonic. If you want to know exactly what you get there is a photo on the First 4 Hampers website with all of the bottles on display. But for the purpose of this review, I’ll keep them as a surprise and only reveal a few.

Fever Tree is one of my favourite tonics (especially their elderflower version) so I was happy to find their tonic water was behind door number one.
I then had a peek behind door number five and found this delicious Bottle Green tonic. I didn’t even know they did tonics! But anything fruit based is always a winner to me.

A very well designed bottle is behind door number seventeen. A tonic brand called Franklin & Sons LTD. Its so nice to see the variety of brands on the market. Some that are more accessible than others, but all equally lovely. I wonder what my favourite will be at once I’ve finished the box?!

The last door I opened was number 21. The tonic behind this door was called The London Essence Co. Again, not a brand I have tried before so I’m really looking forward to having a taste of this.
Like the previous tonic, the bottle of this one is just so lovely! It looks really old fashioned. I love it.

Although we are super close to the 1st, there’s still time to buy one of these if you fancy giving yourself or a loved one a little Christmas treat. Next day delivery is available if you order before 1pm. (So order today/tomorrow morning and you should get it on Friday!) But if you get it a little late, you’ll just have to have a couple of drinks each night until you catch up!

A couple of my friends were quite surprised when I told them I was reviewing a gin and tonic advent calendar, as I’m not a huge drinker. But as I’ve said I absolutely LOVE gin and tonic and after a pretty busy year working on my blog and brand, I feel I deserve a little drink each night in December!
The advent calendar retails at £99. But if you enter ‘FIRST10’ at the checkout you’ll receive 10% off your first order.
Keep an out out on my Insta stories each night in December if you’re keen to see what I get behind each door!
