Earlier this year we were sent a couple of products to try out from MAM. The 12+ months Sports Cup and the 6+ months Snack Box.
This was one of the first times we had used a MAM product so I was really intrigued to see what they were like. One of my goals with this blog is to review lots of brands so I can recommend and advise anyone who needs a little help when buying baby products.
The Sports Cup is non spill and BPA free and suitable for ages 12+ months. I don’t think Lamb would have been able to use this cup at 12 months, I would say it would be more suitable for 18+ months, but that is just my opinion based on my experience with Lamb. The bottle is quite large, however has a slimmer middle making it easier for Lamb to hold. With that said, I still think it would be too big for a 12 month old to hold.
Another reason why I don’t think Lamb would have used this at 12 months is the fact he has only just enjoying using this bottle after owning it for around 4 months. I have no idea why but each time I gave it to him he would say “no, more juice”, which means I have to give him a different juice bottle. He’s like this with most of his bottles, he’s definitely a creature of habit and does’t like change! However recently he has been asking to use this bottle so he must like it. I often wonder if some of these non spill bottles aren’t that easy to drink from, maybe it takes a few attempts for the little ones to work out how much they have to suck to get the drink out.
Although this is a non spill bottle, I did find if the bottle was too full there would be a couple of leaks when tightening the lid, but after those few drops that leaked, there were no more. So just keep this in mind.
The bottle comes with a lid which stays on securely, meaning if there are any minor spills they are caught and won’t get on clothes etc.
Next up is the Snack Box which is suitable from age 6+ months and BPA free. This is one of my fave items. It’s such a great design. The lid is attached so there’s no way of losing it (yes I have lots of random snack boxes and lids in my cupboard, almost as many as my odd socks!)
When your little one is snacking away the lid clips to the bottom of the snack box making it easier for them to hold. This is ideal for on the go; carrying whilst walking, or holding in their pram or carseat. Once they are finished you can whip the lid on and pop back into their lunch bag.
I find this particular product perfect for things that are slightly wet or sticky, like fruit. I mainly use this for grapes or segments of tangerines. The design of the box makes it less likely that your little one will spill the contents, which is brilliant for fruit.
Overall I’m really impressed with the MAM products we have been using. They are high quality, contemporary but simple designs and pretty much do the job you want them to.
Both of the products we have reviewed retail at £5.99 and are available from the MAM website.
Have you used any MAM products before? I like the look of their baby bottles and am considering using these for my next baby.
