I’m sure you all know one of my favourite products we’ve used with BB is the PurFlo Breathable Nest. You can read my review here. I recommend it to anyone and everyone.
PurFlo contacted me and asked if I would review their brand new Breathable Bassinet, as they knew I was such a big fan of their nest. Reviewing new products is one of my favourite parts of blogging because I love finding hidden gems in the market, so of course I agreed.
ASSEMBLING
First of all, there are quite a few parts to assemble the base, so make sure you thoroughly read the instructions as you go. It took less than an hour and may need someone strong to push the poles together (some of the parts were too hard for me to lock in place). Other than that, it was easy for me to do alone.
The bassinet is actually flat packed which is amazing for travel or storage. For me this is such a plus point as it means you can easily take to on nights away meaning you wont need to worry about somewhere for your baby to sleep. For the first few months I actually took our PurFlo breathable nest whenever we stayed somewhere over night therefore being able to flatten this bassinet and take it away is really useful.

Everything else about putting the bassinet together is super easy. The gorgeous soft toys are attached with velcro, the sides are raised with bars that push into place, the hood folds down like one on a pram.
There’s a useful storage basket which clips under the bassinet, which is amazing for holding everything you’ll need for bedtime. Muslin cloths, nappies, wipes, spare sleepsuit etc, which means there’s minimal searching around in the dark during nappy changes.
A fab features of this bassinet is the baby soothing centre. It plays a choice of classic lullabies, natural rainforest and ocean wave sounds. It also has gentle vibration to help settle restless babies and a soft glow night light which makes it much easier to check on baby without waking them.

A little bit more about the Breathable Bassinet:
- *Quilted, breathable bassinet that can be removed from the frame and used seperately
- *PurFlo fully breathable, fully washable hypoallergenic mattress with fitted sheet
- *Large canopy with 3 soft toys
- *Baby soothing centre includes classic lullabies, nature sounds, gentle vibration & night light
- *Large easy access storage basket for baby’s essentials
- *Bassinet sleeping area: 72.4L x 36W cm
- *Product size (frame included): 82.5L x 47W x 77H cm
Aa mentioned above the bassinet comes with its own mattress (you don’t have to buy separately). I always worry with moses baskets and bassinets that they aren’t very comfy. They always seem quite had to sleep on. The PurFlo Bastinett mattress is really spongy and much thicker than I expected. Definitely a bonus to have such a comfy mattress for your little one and with a fitted sheet!
“The benefits of combining breathable mesh panels with the mattress are two-fold: reducing the risk of over-heating and preventing the build-up of allergens known to aggravate infant Eczema and Asthma.”
The overall quality of the bassinet is really high. The whole product feels sturdy. I love that the bassinet can be easily lifted off the base easily, and clips securely back into place. The colour scheme is lovely, very much my taste. I love that it is a traditional bassinet but in a contemporary design. It’s fresh and modern.
I always worry that baby grow out of products like these too quickly but BB has slept comfortably in it and he’s just turned 6 months.
Finally, the retail price of the PurFlo Bassinet is £149 which I think is really good value. There’s no hidden extras, you get everything you need.
This is such a lovely product and well worth looking at if you’re expecting a baby.
