*Thank you to Stevie and my niece for reviewing the Spirit and Lucky Deluxe Feeding Set! I have a feeling it’s going to get a raving review!*
So it’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas, well actually it began a month ago for some, with supermarkets coinciding Halloween and festive cheer; opposites do attract I guess.
Well anyway in the build up to Christmas here at Lamb & Bear we’re scouring the net and toy shops to find the best star items for the whole family. And that brings me so much pleasure to share with you all our newest review.
As you’ll be aware I’m a sucker for a Netflix show, believe me my list is ever growing with specials and new series brought by the flatform. And one of these crazes has infected the whole family with Spirit, Riding free. It follows on from the film sharing the same name, but introducing a western town full of horse riding enthusiasts, including his owner Lucky. Now my daughter has been a fan since day one. She is obsessed with horses and has been hinting at starting lessons for months now. Alas this toy will have to do haha.
So the toy itself, Spirit and Lucky Deluxe Feeding Set is the perfect toy gift for any child already obsessed with the tv series and those who love dolls and horses. This toy is really great quality, we have a couple other toy horses and this is much more sturdy. It’s larger but actually stands up without having to lean it against something. I know it sounds silly for that to be counted as a pro but believe me it helps when your little one is tantruming because she can’t get her horses to line up, it’s a god send. It comes with a few little accessories; bucket, carrot and saddle blanket, so you’re well equipped for its so called needs.
Lucky the doll is the exact replica of the heroine of the show, with flowing locks and a cute outfit. I wish it came with a change of clothes just so you get the whole dress up experience. Perhaps in the future that will be a reality.
Now here’s the best bit… the horse actually eats! Well not literally but you give this little guy a toy carrot, he munches away. It’s so much fun watching the mouth make proper chewing movements and neigh. The kids had to take it in turns to feed spirit as one too many carrots at the same time can force this horsey to choke and get blocked up. The carrots are then removed through a little slot on his chest, so the fun can be relived.
It really is a staple piece to anyone who loves this show. It’s the two main characters, in great quality with little accessories to reenact scenes from the show. Definitely a show stopper, this horsey hands down wins a ribbon in our eyes.
The Spirit and Lucky Deluxe Feeding set retails at £59.99 and can be bought from Smyths here.
