After having Lamb my baby brain was bad. I remember being in a meeting at work and my mind being completely blank at every question they threw at me. All I could think of was the colour grey. Everything was grey. No answers, just grey.
Then Bear came along and the baby brain came back with a vengeance. Well, I don’t think it ever left, it just got a lot worse.
Even now, 13 months on, I’m constantly forgetting things. Lambs pre-school are always chasing me for forms I should of returned, or answers to questions they asked me weeks before. I’ve missed appointments. Forgotten birthdays. The usual.
We live in a pretty savvy world, so why not use that to our advantage, and make use of the technology we have around us?
I now, use my smartphone to basically run my life. I have apps for everything. My calendar is full of everything from birthdays, to appointments, even to posting something. I add my to-do list to my calendar and set 2 alarms as reminders. One to remind me (this could be a couple of day to a couple of hours before) and one at the time I need to do it.
Sounds a little extreme, but it works for me! Well, most of the time. Sometimes my alarms don’t go off and technology fails me!
I have apps to run my blog, and a scheduling app for the social media accounts I manage. I use the Ocado app to do my food shop and I even use an app to help with my Weight Watcher journey.
As you can see there are so many amazing gadgets on the market that can help with smart living. I would absolutely love a cooker that I could control from my phone. I am constantly burning my dinner because I’m trying to settle Bear or get Lamb to bed. If I end up cuddling Bear until he falls asleep (which happens a lot), I get stuck upstairs and can’t turn the oven off. A simple click of a button on my phone and my problems are solved!
How do you use technology to make life easier with kids?

Oh honestly you are not alone! I have to make sure everything, and I mean everything, goes down in our calendar app. It syncs to my husbands which helps us both know what the other is doing and when. I even have to put coffee dates and doctor appointments in which I never had to do. My once very reliable memory has been shot to bits and it got so much worse after the second baby! I don’t know what we’d do without these apps to keep our lives on track as parents x
