Sometimes I find myself day dreaming about where in the world I’d like to visit. I’ve been lucky to travel long haul a couple of times, but I’ve rarely ventured out of Europe. There are a few places still on my bucket list, but I’m going to share with you some of the best places I’ve been lucky enough to travel to. If you’re unsure of the places you might want to visit why not take a quick quiz by Karcher about monuments around the world – it might inspire you.
- First on my list is the Statue of Liberty in New York. I’ve been to Manhattan twice and I absolutely love it. It’s my favourite place I’ve visited and I would go back every year if I could. I dream of one day returning when my kids are grown up to show them the amazing sights and landmarks.

- Another from New York (sorry I couldn’t include only one landmark in this list). The Empire State Building – with a twist. We were given a tip while in NYC, don’t go up the Empire State Building, go up the Rockefeller Centre. That way you can see the whole of the Empire State Building! We did exacyly this and we went up at the perfect time – sunset. I captured some amazing photographs and saw the city light up as it got dark. Stunning.

- Thailand is the furthest I’ve travelled to. 13 hours in total to get to Phuket. I was a little nervous about visiting somewhere so far away and with such a different culture. I don’t have a varied diet so I was worried about eating the food. Turns out Thai food is my favourite and I had no problems eating every day! While in Phuket we visited the Big Buddha. A beautiful landmark of an overwhelming size.

- This may not be as famous as the other landmarks I’ve mentioned but this one holds a special place in my heart. The The Medieval Castle of Paphos in Cyprus is where my husband proposed to me! It was such a beautiful setting for a proposal. My husband wasn’t keen on doing it in public so he was lucky to find a little bench away from the tourists where he could pop the question in private.

- Finally, I can’t write a list of my favourite landmarks without including somewhere in London. A city I love. I’ve been on The London Eye twice. Once when I was on my babymoon when pregnant with Lamb, and again more recently when we went on a press trip with Garfunkles. Lamb absolutley loved it and when he sees a photos he always talks about how much he enjoyed going on it. Sometimes you don’t have to travel to the other side of the world to visit beautiful landmarks and make happy memories.

What are your favourite landmarks or places you’ve visited?

I absolutely love new york and agree with your top two. We went to cyprus in summer, I would have loved to seen the castle.
I’ve never been outside Europe and there are so many places I’d love to visit, especially the Far East. I was going but was taken ill do ended up on a weekend away in the Lake District for my 40th. Sadly don’t think with health issues I’ll get outside Europe
I hate beach holidays and tend to go on city breaks
Best holiday was 4 years ago when did 10 European countries in a month. Fantastic. Favourite was Kraków, least favourite Warsaw
That’s such a shame, I hope you get to travel outside Europe one day. I also love European cities, particularly Amsterdam xx
Great list Alex! Honestly get soo much envy when I see New York mentioned I would LOVE to go one day! I think one of my favourite places I’ve visited would probably be Iceland or Jersey! x
I’ve bee to Jersey and it is lovely! You have to go to NYC one day, especially if you watch lots of films and friends, you’ll recognise everything!! Xxx
Wow what great places to visit, I haven’t traveled to many places, I was never worried about it when I was younger. However once I got older I realised there is a much bigger world out there and so many lovely places.
Beautiful list! I haven’t travelled much myself, but am starting next month in Amsterdam. Can’t wait to have memories, experiences and photos like yours x
I’m not sure what I would go for, maybe Tower Bridge. I think the Statue of Liberty is a good one (I’ve been up inside it) and I like the idea of looking at the Empire State building from another skyscraper.
I loved New York as well. I went with a friend for a few days and just loved the whole lot – for me Grand Central Station was the best of the trip.
New York is amazing, I have so many fond memories of the place. I also need to revisit as there are so many parts of the city that I didn’t get to see. My friend I were looking for a off licence and everyone we asked didn’t have a clue what we were on about. One even asked if my friend was speaking English lol fun times indeed
So jealous of all these places you’ve been, it looks amazing! I’m going to New York in Feb for the first time, and i can’t wait, although i’ve been warned it’s going to be really cold! I hope to visit more of america one day as well, and also Australia 🙂 x
I have never been to Thailand before. Would love to visit some day. But my favorite place I have visited has to be new York. With work I was lucky enough to stay there twice for a few weeks. I’m going back in March. 🙂 Spain is another place I love.
New York is one of the places I can’t wait to visit, I’m so jealous of your list. I’ve just been looking at cruises down America for 2016 as I want to visit a few other places on the same trip.
Archie’s Grandad owns a villa in Spain so we mainly go out there but decided the next few years we must broaden our holiday horizons 😉 Geat list xx
I’ve never been to America, but New York City is on my must see places (maybe when I’m retired and can afford it) to visit. I love finding out where people want to visit and why, I don’t fancy Thailand myself but know lots of people who have been and raved about it. Great round up
Love this, so want to visit NY! Gorge pics, gorge you x
I went to New York on my honeymoon and it was the most amazing place I have ever been. The Empire State building was out of this world. We couldn’t go and see Lady Liberty as I get severely boat sick 🙁 x
I love London and would absolutely love to go to New York. Kaz x
This is a lovely list and something I loved to read. I’ve travelled quite a bit too..never been to America though or the london eye.

Beautiful choices! I will never forget standing at the top of the Rockefeller Centre at sunset on a beautiful October day! The statue of Liberty is an amazing experience too!
I quite fancy a ride on the London Eye as I’ve never done it before… but I am scared of heights.
Saying that I’ve been up the Sky Tower in NZ which is the tallest man made structure in the southern hemisphere.
xx
Oh I love it! My husband is a travel geek so I’ll get him to take the quiz. I need to do something like this we’ve done lots of travelling 🙂
So jealous you have been to New York and Thailand they are places I have always wanted to visit. I think Walt Disney world Florida is probably the place I have loved visiting myself as I am a huge Disney Fan xx
New York is in my favourites as well!!! I’d love to go to Thailand. I must admit being up the Empire State building was a biggie for me and going to Disneyland in Paris. xx #love2blog
I’ve always wanted to visit New York and LA, And it’s definitely a must wish list to pursue. I love travelling lately, I haven’t ventured out yet
Great list! I really want to go to Manhattan! The spot in Cyprus where your hubby proposed is lovely! This post has really given me the travel bug again 🙂

I will never forget the feeling when I laid eyes on Miss Liberty! It was like stepping into a film. As a Londoner I will always have a special place in my heart for her landmarks. I love St Pauls and Tower Bridge.
