Does anyone else just love ‘redesigning’ their children’s bedroom in their heads? I’m constantly daydreaming different ideas of what I could do to give the boys their dream bedroom. First of all, they’d have a bedroom each, but as they are sharing I’d have to come up with a theme they’d both love.
And who doesn’t love Disney?!
I’m quite open minded when it comes to my horoscope and things like that. I’m not necessarily a believer, but I do like to read things about the month or year I was born in, find out what it says about me etc.
For a bit of fun I’m sharing a Baby Bloom Horoscope from Flying Flowers. Now, I feel like the personalities of my boys are quite clear. Lamb is sensitive, shy, very loving, but a bit cheeky and has a great sense of humour. Bear is a little more wild. He’s confident and adventurous, but can be a little clingy but very giggly.
Yesterday we took Lamb & Bear to pick their pumpkins for Halloween. Personally, I’m not really that interested in celebrating Halloween, but I won’t say no to watching Hocus Pocus on repeat for a week or two.
Having said that, going to a pumpkin patch was so much fun. I was desperate to find the most unusual and weird pumpkins to decorate our house. The boys LOVED running around looking for their perfect pumpkins. They’d find a great one, only to find one even better a little further along. I think Lamb would of brought twenty home if we let him!
A question I ask my other half a lot when we talk about redecorating is if we can add a feature wall somewhere.
I’m a creative person and I definitely have the confidence in choosing a vibrant or bold wallpaper and making it work. Not because I have the best taste, but because it would suit my personally to have something a bit ‘out there’ in my house. I’d love something like a black and white striped wallpaper or maybe even a zig zag!
He’s not so keen. His worry is once we have a wallpaper, we’ll be stuck with it. But if I had my own way, we’d be looking for something contemporary and quirky. To convince him to look at feature walls, I’ve asked some of my blogging buddies to share their feature walls from their own homes and why they love them.

As we’ve lived in 3 rented properties in the last five years we’ve always made use of feature walls, whether that be with statement paper, vinyls or paint. I think it’s a great way to bring a bit of your own personality to a property. Also it’s really inexpensive so you can change it on a whim. Http://hibabyblog.co.uk

I’ve got this wallpaper in our bedroom. It was actually given to me by my mum after she changed her mind about it. I’d never thought to have a feature wall before, but I’m so glad I did as it’s completely changed the look of the room, and was the starting point for styling the rest of the room! www.dovecottageblog.com

Hmm, not so much wallpaper but i love a gallery wall which is technically a feature wall, right? Having a gallery wall allowed us to have frames filled with family photos but also some art and other beautiful things. I think its a different dimension to the room having more than just flat frames on a wall. www.theunlikelydad.com
I have to say, I’m loving these feature walls. There’s a couple I would LOVE in my bedroom. The rose gold retro triangles is totally my taste, and I love the birds much more than I thought I would.

My memories of my mum from my childhood are of her always being very hands on. Whether it was arts & crafts, baking, reading or even putting on make up with me, my mum was patient, thoughtful and creative.
Although I don’t remember a lot from when I was a child, the tiny snippets I do remember are what inspires me now I’m a mother.
Having a very creative mum meant we would spend hours on different projects. One of my fondest memories is making a 3D rainforest when I was about 6 years old. My mum cut out a cardboard box so it only had the back, sides and base. We then painted lots of tropical plants and trees to go inside. We added a poisonous frog, a snake, a swinging monkey. The whole thing was just magical. (It helps that my mum is really good at drawing and painting so everything looked incredibly realistic).
I was so proud of what we had made I took it into school to show my friends. My teacher loved it and decided it would be a great project for the whole class to do. So we all paired up and everyone made one for themselves. I was suddenly the coolest kid in the class. Or at least I felt like it!
Using only, a cardboard box, some paint and glue, and a whole lot of love, we not only created an amazing piece of art, but more importantly, we made memories. Memories that I still treasure today.
