This year we are working with Big Jigs as part of the Play Patrol team. This is probably one of the most exciting collaborations for us as Lamb happens to be the biggest fan of their wooden trains sets (and already has a huge collection!).
Our first review is of the figure of 8 train set. This set has over 40 pieces and is the perfect starter set, or set to expand a growing collection.
The figure of 8 train set consists of 40 play pieces including a wooden train and two carriages plus freestanding houses, trees, signs, villagers and more. What’s great about the set is you have everything you need for your little one to sit and play.
As I mentioned Lamb has lots of train track already. We often use every single piece and fill up the whole living room with a crazy track. When I gave him his new set to try out I wondered if he would ask for the rest of his collection to expand the figure of 8. Well, he didn’t. He was more than happy to sit and play with the new set and didn’t mention anything else.
What’s great about the Big Jigs trains sets is they are compatible with most other wooden railway brands. You don’t have to worry about friends and family buying different brands and not being able to use them together.
There’s so many amazing extras to can buy to expand the figure of 8 set. Lamb particularly loves his tunnel and bridge.
Lamb is really looking forward to reviewing again as part of the Big Jigs Play Patrol and can’t wait to find out what he’s getting!

So no one actually told me how much having kids would physically age me. The wrinkles, the eye bags, the hair loss – it all comes with being a parent. Even my husband is noticing the ageing effects of fatherhood.
Earlier this year we decided to do some home improvements and redecorated our living room. It was in desperate need of a lick of paint. To be honest, every room in our house (apart from our kitchen and bathroom) needs modernising.
