With Christmas fast approaching it’s time for me to start sharing Christmas gift guides on the blog. I love doing shopping style blog posts. They always seem popular with my readers and, well, I love shopping!
I’m sure you all know about Sainsburys half price toy sale they had last week. I’m not sure if it’s ended, but it’s worth heading to your local store to find out if you haven’t been already. There were some amazing bargains!
I picked up a few things for Lamb to try save us some pennies, plus he’s pointed out a couple of things recently so I wanted to get them while they were fresh in my mind.
If you’re stuck for ideas to buy a 3-4 year old, then take a look at what we picked up.
Every kid loves Playdoh and as we have an Avengers fan in our house I knew these Avengers Can-Heads would be ideal. Lamb already has some of this range including Hulk & Iron Man, and Captain America & Spiderman.
Lamb is also loving fire trucks at the moment so I also grabbed this Play Doh Town Fire Truck to add to his Play Doh collection.
This will probably get a lot more use than other Play Doh sets I’ve bought as he will most likely play with the fire truck on its own too.
Lamb has a new obsession with Blaze and the Monster Machines and keeps asking for the Blaze Jet. This one wasn’t half price, I think it was 25% off. It was still cheaper than other stores so I grabbed it.
Something Lamb keeps asking for is a Thomas train set. He’s got plenty of wooden track but as he gets older he seems to be more drawn to the Thomas sets. I managed to get the Trackmaster Busy Quarry for £20! He’s going to love this. I’m probably going to ask family members to buy other sets to put with this one.
To add to his collection I bought him a Spiderman figure. He already has 2 hulks (the basic one and the one who talks), 2 Captain Americans (the basic one and the one who talks), Iron Man and Thor. I’m also going to ask someone to get him Black Widow and Hawk Eye.

Lamb loves these Super Hero Mashers and has a few already including Wolverine and Hulk. He saw the Captain America Masher in Sainsburys a while ago, so when I found it in the sale I got one for his stocking. These are fab as you can mix and match the parts and change the heads, legs etc. Keeps him happy for a while!
So that’s what we have bought for Lamb to put under the tree. Hopefully he doesn’t find them before Christmas!
I’ll be doing lots more Christmas gift guide over the next couple of weeks, so keep checking if you’re looking for ideas.

Fisher-Price very kindly sent us the Rainforest Music & Lights deluxe
The mat is super easy to put together. You simply attach the bars in the holes in each corner and clip together in the middle. Once this is done, the arches are very secure and sturdy. I actually read a review on Amazon.com where they complain the bird was leaning to one side and fell off the top without being pushed. They clearly hadn’t clipped everything into place and just balanced the bird on top.
As you can see from the photos, the rainforest play gym is brightly coloured and very detailed, something significant of Fisher-Price toys. We also have the

As you can see the truck is a decent size so will withstand lots of playing. Which is a good thing, as Lamb seems to like chucking this around the house!
Having a child who loves stickers, enjoys drawing, always asks to read stories and gets excited about puzzles, BUT loses interest pretty quickly, I’m reluctant to spend a lot of money on these areas of activities.
Last month ago I was offered the
What’s great about the swim trainer is you can be totally hands free and know your baby can float safely next to you. As soon as we put BB into his ring we could tell he felt safe and secure. He didn’t wriggle or complain, he didn’t make a sound. He was happy and content.
Overall I really love this product and I’m quite surprised more parents don’t own one! As a family we love going swimming. My husband takes Lamb after pre-school on Friday evenings and I take BB for lessons on Friday lunch times.
