We all know I’m a big fan of the Gro Company, and have reviewed a number of their products already, including a summer Grobag. Last year we were asked to review another Grobag, but this time a heavier tog for colder months. We were sent the Carnival 2.5 tog Travel Grobag.
If you haven’t used a Grobag before here a few key points you need to know:
- Fits a 5 point travel harness
- 100% woven cotton outer
- 100% super-soft jersey lining on 2.5 and 1.0 tog
- 100% cool cotton single layer on 0.5 tog
- Quick–dry polyester filling on 2.5 tog
- 2 way front zip and back vent on all sizes
- Includes a free nursery thermometer with 0-6 and 6-18 month sizes, user guide and safe sleep information.
- Machine washable and can be tumble dried on a low hear (hurrah!)
One of my favourite features of this particular Grobag is the central zip at the front. The Grobags we used when Lamb was a baby were zipped around the side, which is fine for a baby that stays still. For a wriggly toddler who fights going to bed, the central zip is much easier to fasten; one hand on the pull and one hand trying to keep the little one still!
I’ve always used Grobags and at 21 months Lamb still goes to bed in one. They are safer than loose covers, regulate body heat and I find generally keep him asleep longer; he can’t wriggle around as much!
This particular Grobag is extremely useful during the winter months as you are able to use it in a pram or car seat. The velcro’d vent at the back allows you to place the buckle between your child’s legs so you are able to fasten the harness securely.
Personally I think this is a genius design. There’s nothing more annoying than blankets being kicked off in the middle of the street!
The Gro Company recommend you start using a Grobag when your baby is 8lb 8oz, just make sure their head isn’t able to pass through the neck hole when the bag is fastened.
As you can see from the Carnival print Grobag we have, these are super fun and colourful sleeping bags. There are so many prints and colours available for both boys and girls, and even plenty of unisex designs.
There are 4 sizes available, 0-6 months, 6-18 months, 18-36 months, and 3-6 years. I was quite surprised to find they offered a Grobag for 3-6 years but it makes total sense. The older they get, the wrigglier they get, right? Putting them in a Grobag gives you peace of mind they will stay warm at bedtime.
There are also 4 togs available, 0.5 tog, 1 tog, 2.5 tog and 3.5 tog. For more information on when to use each tog click here and see ‘more info’.

Great review, we are huge Gro-Bag fans and the pattern of this one is very cool xx
Thanks! We have kept all of Lambs Gro bags ready foe when we have another baby! Love them! x
Oh I do like to see a bub in a grobag, shame mine only lasted until he was about 3 weeks old, then screamed the house down if he was in it! Wow, 3-6 might give him another try although knowing my luck, he’ll fall out of bed! Great review.
Thanks so much for linking to #toddlerapprovedtuesday

i love Grobags! Jacob is in one every night. It definitely keeps him super warm and he’s quite a mover in his sleep so I don’t have to worry about him kicking covers off and getting chilly.
They are fab aren’t they! Make sure you get the low tog travel one in the summer 🙂
I love the grobag, this is such a good review. I love how colourful it is! We have two girls ones, the thin tog and thickest tog! x
