I did a lot of research on swings and bouncers when I was pregnant. From talking with other mums, I knew I wanted to buy a swing. I loved the idea of switching it on and leaving my baby to swing away while he slept. Leaving me to finish a cuppa before it got cold. Although it was rare this happened, I’ve lost count of how many cold teas I’ve thrown away since Jaxson was born!
After reading other blogs, I decided on the Mamas & Papas Starlite Swing. I loved the neutral colour, and soft, delicate fabric. Even though I knew I was having a boy, I wanted to get some products that were unisex and neutral, and didn’t want to force baby blue and racing cars on him too early!
The Starlight Swing is a lot smaller, and more compact then most of the other swings on the market. That was extremely appealing to me, as I have quite a small house. I knew we would use it everyday, so didn’t want something bulky taking up too much space, that I would trip up over, and end up kicking up the wall!
I must admit, the price tag did put me off at first. There are cheaper swings available. However, I am so glad we invested in this swing. It’s extremely light, compact, reclines in 3 different positions, has 5 swing settings, and offers a variety of lullabies. Not only that, but it also connects to your MP3 player, so you can play your fave tracks to you little one, if the lullabies start getting on your nerves (go on, admit it, you know they do!) Finally, the twinkling lights on the canopy give baby something to focus on if they are awake, and if you want them to look around and take in their surroundings, the canopy is detachable.
As you can see, the Starlite Swings folds up really well, so is easily stored away. For me, this swing was always going to be an investment item, to hopefully keep for our next baby. Jaxson used this up until the maximum weight, and absolutely loved it. It’s extremely comfortable, he would sit through an entire Disney movie without complaining! (That’s my boy!)
I can’t stress how much we relied on this swing in the early days of Jaxson being at home. I was in a lot of pain, as most new mums are, and I couldn’t move around very well for the first few weeks after giving birth. So to have somewhere to rock and swing Jaxson to sleep, so I could rest was extremely helpful! This was one of my favourite buys as a new mum, and I will be keeping it in my loft ready for the next baby! The Starlite Swing gets a thumbs up from Lamb & Bear! x
