Wedding Series: Table Decorations

Designing your wedding table decorations can be super stressful. I was jumping between ideas and couldn’t make a decision. I’m so indecisive. I automatically assumed I would go with a winter wedding theme, well I was getting married in December.

Everything changed when I found my dress. (You can read my post about choosing my dress here.) As soon as I looked at myself in the mirror I said “I feel like I’m going to the oscars”. There was my light bulb moment. My theme would be hollywood glam. A bit of the oscars and a hint of the 1920s. I was beyond excited.

After tweeting about my wedding ideas I was approached by the lovely Sophie at Magpie Linens. Magpie Linens supply tablecloths and linens for weddings and events. I had a look at what they had and was blown away by their gorgeous sequin covers. These would be perfect for my wedding theme!

I am so grateful to Sophie for allowing me to review her sequin tablecloths and runners, I can’t stress enough how amazing they made my tables look. It just wouldn’t have been the same without them. Weekend Baby Style #3

I’ll be honest. For this weeks weekend baby style I’m cheating. I couldn’t get Lamb to sit still yesterday morning, and he’s been at his Grandparents for the weekend so I’m using some photos I took of him a couple of weeks ago. It’s an outfit he wears regularly so is still relevant to his current wardrobe.

Lamb’s jumper is from Primark. He doesn’t have much from Primark because we don’t have one local to us, but I like to pick a few things up if I’m ever shopping near one. I actually think their baby/toddler clothes are really nice. They do, however, come up really small in size so I would recommend going up a size or two. If your little one is at the early stage of their size, for example aged 6 months and wearing 6-12 months then buy 12-18 month clothes. If your little one is wearing 6-12 month clothing and is aged 10 or 11 months, then go for 18-24 months, or you will find the clothes just won’t fit or last that long.

His printed leggings are from, yep you guessed it, Zara. These are age 18-24 months and still fit Lamb who will be 2 next month. They are getting a little snug, but I think he will be wearing them after his 2nd birthday.

Finally, his “slip slips” are from Clarks and he has the same pair at Grandma’s house too! He loves wearing his slippers, it’s a shame they don’t have this design anymore, because he’s quite attached to them and they won’t fit him for much longer.

Valentine’s Day Arts & Crafts

It’s month 2 for the #bostikbloggers and this month is Valentine’s Day themed. So what better then to spend time with the love of my life making romantic crafts!

With our lovely box of craft goodies sent from Bostik we started by making Valentine’s Day cards. One for Baby Bear (obviously) and one for Jaxson’s good friend Sophia. I just received a video from Sophia’s mum of her opening her Valentine’s Day card and it’s so cute! She loved it – job well done!

We were suppled with 2 blank cards and envelopes, but obviously these are pretty easy to find in shops. I recommend trying The Range for this sort of stuff.

I let Lamb loose with his felt tip pens, red and pink for obvious reasons. We then used the glitter pens from our Bostik craft box to decorate further. Lambs favourite part of making the valentines cards was sticking hearts all over the cards and envelopes. He’s obsessed with stickers!

The great thing about home made Valentine’s Day cards is you will most likely have everything you need at home and won’t need to buy many materials. A piece of plain paper and pink felt tip will do the trick! However , if you want to get a little more creative why not use heart stickers, glitter pens and coloured card to create something more special.

The second craft we made was a heart hanging decoration. In our craft box from Bostik we had a wooden heart shape and lots of hearts stickers and shapes. As Lamb loves sticking I thought this would be a really fun activity for him. I was right. He had so much fun decorating the heart block.

I used the Micro Dots from our craft box to stick the foam hearts down, while the jewelled hearts already had a sticky dot on the back.

Something like this is super easy to do and like with the Valentine’s Day cards, you can pretty much make this from things you already have in your house. You could use an old cereal box to create the heart shape decoration. Then collect any pink and red materials to cut into little heart shapes to decorate with. As long as you have something sticky on both sides like the Micro Dots you can decorate as much as you like with plenty of different materials.

Why not cover a heart shaped piece of card in tin foil and then decorate with pink glitter?

There are lots and lots of different hanging decorations you can come up with. Hopefully what we have made will give you a little inspiration to make your own.
