Grey and yellow colour combinations have been incredibly popular in interior design for the past few years now, and it looks like they’re here to stay.
If it’s good enough for the red carpet, it might well be good enough for you. If you’re planning on making some design changes in your home soon, consider these thoughts.
A (little) step out from the norm
There’s no doubt that clean whites and greys throughout a home look great, but what if you want to add a splash of colour? With a grey and yellow combo, you have a great middle ground.
By basing a room predominantly on greys but adding splash of yellow, you can keep a clean, modern look but add a touch of expression. Even a single piece of furniture to accent the room or a yellow centrepiece can offer a fresh appearance.
Emotional tones
The diversity of tone you can create with different shades is incredible and gives you several options.
The neutrality of the grey versus the bold of the yellow means you can achieve anything from a calming, pale décor through to a standout look with a darker grey and brighter yellow, plus anything in between.
One of the reasons for the scheme’s popularity is its ability to create a mood to suit any home.
For the kids
In 2019, you might not be heart-set on decorating in top-to-toe baby boy blue or pretty pink for a girl when building a nursery.
Grey and yellow represent an on-trend scheme with unisex appeal that seems perfect for creating a sophisticated, child-friendly space. The design also offers a little more longevity than its traditional counterparts.
If you’re into psychology, a strike of yellow will also add happiness and energy to the room.
Plenty of choice
With grey and yellow having been popular over the last few years, retailers have moved to accommodate consumers with lots of design ideas to choose from.
Take curtains, for example. Direct Blinds have over 100 scheme-suitable styles to pick from, whilst standout yellow furniture pieces are readily available from the big retailers.
With a surprising and diverse range of applications, it’s easy to see why grey and yellow might be in it for the long haul.

You will always want to make the most out of half-term so that your little ones have a fun break from school. Half-term is a great time to spend some quality time together as a family and there are few places more fun and exciting for a half-term trip than London.
These days, we all end up with so much unwanted stuff. The good news is that it is now easier than ever to sell items that you no longer need. Whether this is taking them to a car boot sale, selling them to a company or listing them online with an auction website. You can raise a fair amount of money by doing this. It is definitely worth doing if you have items around the house that you no longer need. Personally I was super successful selling clothes on eBay a few years ago, and have also purchased second hand items from Facebook Marketplace and Gumtree.
Ohh it’s that time again. We do love a bit of those slumber hero’s over here at Lamb & Bear. Can you guess it, these crime fighting bedtime crusaders have stolen our hearts. Yep yep it’s a PJ Masks toy review!!
